Next to the Thu Thiem Lovers of the Holy Cross Congregation is the Thu Thiem Church, built by French missionaries in 1859 for the Lovers of the Holy Cross nuns and local parishioners to attend mass. The building has been renovated many times, with a three-story facade that gradually gets smaller as it gets higher. The bell tower has five bells cast in France between 1889 and 1892.

In 1956, a new chapel was built on the grounds of the Thu Thiem Congregation of the Lovers of the Holy Cross. Later, the convent built an elementary and secondary school to accommodate hundreds of students.
After 1975, the above-mentioned Catholic private schools were publicized (and successively dismantled and relocated elsewhere after 2012).

The buildings here have the appearance of Indochinese architecture (a combination of Asian and European architectural styles with symmetry, thick yellow painted walls, tiled roofs, wide corridors along the building to prevent direct radiation, louvered doors, louvers for natural ventilation...).
In 2019, the Congregation of the Lovers of the Holy Cross and Thu Thiem Church were recognized as city-level architectural and artistic relics.
