Sumit Nagal and Ly Hoang Nam won the men's doubles at the 2015 Wimbledon junior tournament. The Indian player rose to 122nd ATP ranking in 2020, then he participated in the main draw of Grand Slam tournaments 4 times and won a set against Roger Federer in the first round of the 2019 US Open.
Nagal is also the only Indian player to have ever competed in the men's singles event at the Olympics and won a match at the Olympics. On the evening of April 8, Sumit Nagal continued to make waves when he defeated Matteo Arnaldi 5-7, 6-2, 6-4 in the first round of the Monte Carlo Masters 2024.

Nagal is currently ranked 93rd in the world, but the Indian's victory over 38th ATP ranked Matteo Arnaldi surprised experts.
In the qualifying round of this year's Monte Carlo Masters, Nagal successively eliminated opponents ranked above him, Flavio Cobolli (world No. 63) and Facundo Diaz Acosta (world No. 53). In the second round, Nagal will meet No. 7 seed Holger Rune.
In some notable matches in the first round, the in-form Dimitrov had no trouble against Polish opponent Vacherot to win 7-5, 6-2. Tsitsipas also defeated Djere when the Serbian player had to retire midway through the second set.
Auger-Aliassime easily defeated Luca Nardi with the scores of 6-2, 6-3. However, in the second round, the Canadian player will meet a very strong opponent, third seed Carlos Alcaraz on April 10.
In the second round of the Monte Carlo Masters 2024 taking place today (April 9), number one seed Novak Djokovic will face Roman Safiullin at 7:00 p.m. (Vietnam time). Other notable matches include Alex De Minaur - Stan Wawrinka (4:00 p.m.) and Alexander Zverev - Sebastian Ofner (8:30 p.m.).
