Accounting for nearly 12% of the district's population, Catholics in Cam Xuyen (Ha Tinh) have actively developed the economy and participated in patriotic emulation movements to build their homeland to become increasingly prosperous.

On the afternoon of December 15, the Steering Committee for Religious Affairs of Cam Xuyen district held a meeting with Catholic party members and summarized the patriotic emulation movement among religious people in 2023 on the occasion of Christmas 2023. Cam Xuyen district has 16/23 communes and towns with 35 villages where Catholics live; of which 9 villages have all Catholics, 8 parishes, 24 sub-parishes with nearly 17,000 Catholics (accounting for nearly 12% of the district's population).

In 2023, in general, religious rituals and activities took place normally, in accordance with the law, with the consent of authorities at all levels and ensuring the right to practice beliefs and religions. During the year, the work of State management and propaganda on religious activities was strengthened.

Along with the general socio-economic development of the whole district, the movement of economic development, hunger eradication and poverty reduction, and new rural construction in many parishes and religious communities has been promoted. Standing Deputy Secretary of Cam Xuyen District Party Committee Ha Thi Viet Anh informed about the district's socio-economic development results in 2023 and sent Christmas greetings to Catholic party members.

The emulation movement "Joining hands for the poor - no one is left behind" has been promoted by the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee and mass organizations. The movement to build new rural areas and urban beautification has been actively responded to by people in religious areas. Up to now, the whole district has 5 villages and residential areas with religious people meeting the standards of model residential areas, 4 communes with religious people meeting the standards of new rural areas. The security and order situation in the religious areas has been basically maintained. People from parishes and religious groups have responded positively, the movement of the whole people participating in protecting the security of the Fatherland.

Promoting the achieved results, in 2024, Cam Xuyen district will continue to do a good job of propagating the Party's guidelines, policies and laws of the State on religious affairs; strengthen the direction of implementing well the State management of religion; pay attention to directing the development of Party members, union members and association members; build and consolidate youth union branches and associations; promote the emulation movement "Skillful mass mobilization"...
