Located in a "beautiful landscape", in front is Rao Cai River (Hoang Ha) and behind is Tuong Son Mountain, Phu Son Temple worships the gods Tam Lang and Than Nong, Thanh Mau, who are gods associated with the beliefs of Vietnamese rice farmers since ancient times.
Leaders of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, Thach Ha district awarded the certificate of provincial-level historical and cultural relic of Phu Son temple to local authorities.
The temple has a unique architecture, arranged symmetrically on the sacred axis, from the outside to the inside in the shape of the letter Nhi (二) with the ceremonial gate, temple yard, lower hall and upper hall. In particular, the ceremonial gate is a highlight with a two-story arched architecture, upper arch, lower arch, both aesthetic and solid.
Phu Son Temple is a religious structure decorated with many traditional themes bearing the imprint of folk art by the masons of Dinh Hoe Temple, Kieu Moc Commune, Ha Nhi Commune (now Dinh Ban Commune, Thach Ha District).
Based on the patterns and decorative techniques, experts determined that the temple was built around the end of the Le Dynasty and the beginning of the Nguyen Dynasty (late 18th century, early 19th century). Not only is it a hundreds-year-old tangible cultural heritage, the temple is also associated with many festivals and beliefs of the people in the region.
Although over 200 years old, Phu Son Temple still retains its original architectural and artistic elements.
With its architectural, historical and cultural values, on January 13, 2023, the People's Committee of Ha Tinh province decided to recognize Phu Son temple as a provincial architectural and artistic relic.
Being recognized as a provincial relic is also the basis for the government and people of Tuong Son commune to continue preserving and promoting the value of the relic.
