According to the investor, within the project area, a total of 453 existing trees were affected, located along Le Lai, Truong Dinh, Pham Hong Thai, Cach Mang Thang Tam and Truong Chinh streets. Of these, 404 trees were cut down, the rest were relocated. These trees are of the black star, purple lagerstroemia, diamond, oil, price ty, sour me, monkey skull, tamarind, ironwood, etc.
MUAR said that the tree system along the route will be handled in two phases. From now until the end of July, trees within the construction area for relocation and reconstruction of technical infrastructure works (electricity, water, etc.) will be cut down and relocated first. Trees on the sidewalk that do not affect the construction of technical infrastructure will be temporarily retained. In the next phase, all trees within the land acquisition area for the project will be cut down or relocated.
The Ben Thanh - Tham Luong Metro Line has a total investment of over VND47,800 billion, is over 11 km long, of which 9 km is underground with 9 underground stations and one elevated station. The line passes through 6 districts: 1, 3, 10, 12, Tan Binh, Tan Phu, with a total area to be recovered of about 251,000 m2. Currently, the project has about 90% of the site cleared, and contractors are also relocating and re-establishing technical infrastructure to prepare for the start of main packages next year.

According to the investor, the underground stations of Metro Line 2 are being constructed in densely populated areas. Therefore, within the station area and adjacent to the station boundary, there are many underground and above-ground technical infrastructure works, trees, etc. Relocating and felling trees also helps speed up the relocation process, re-establishing electricity, water, and telecommunications infrastructure, limiting the impact on people's lives.
