Gift from Heaven is organized by the Vietnam - Korea Association of Cultural and Economic Industries (AVIKO), directed by artist Nguyen Phuc Hung. This is an activity in the series of programs "Vietnam - Korea - US Cooperation Forum and Cultural and Artistic Exchange" jointly implemented by AVIKO, Ho Chi Minh City Association for Liaison with Overseas Vietnamese, with support from the People's Committees of Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City, Da Nang and a number of relevant agencies in the localities.
Artists will perform classic works by famous composers along with Christmas music.
The program will take place on December 11 at the Hanoi Opera House and on December 14 at the Ho Chi Minh City Theater. In addition, there will be two more performances: on December 15 at the Ho Chi Minh City University of Economics and on December 16 at Duy Tan University, Da Nang. The organizers said that the performances will not be ticketed but will be by invitation only, providing an opportunity for classical music lovers, especially young people who are passionate about this genre, to enjoy and join in the Christmas atmosphere.
President of the New York Classical Music Association Lynn Czae said that 16 Korean artists from the association currently living in the US, France, Italy, UK, Korea... will gather in Korea and have 3 weeks of rehearsal together before coming to Vietnam to perform.
She added that this is the fifth time the New York Classical Music Society has organized a concert series in Vietnam, but the first time it is on such a large scale. She also expressed her desire to organize this series of programs annually, as well as invite artists from many countries to perform in the following seasons.
Violinist Tang Thanh Nam
According to Mr. Nguyen Quang Huy - Chairman of AVIKO, because the year-end performance schedule of Korean artists living in Vietnam is quite busy - that is also a good sign, so information about these artists will be announced later.
Vietnamese artists performing in the program include violinist Tang Thanh Nam and the Saigon Choir.
