Fire drill at City Children's Hospital
Hypothetical situation, at around 10am the same day, due to an electrical short circuit, a fire broke out in the warehouse area of the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit of the hospital, on the 3rd floor of the 8-storey building of this hospital. The fire then spread to the surrounding area.
Detecting the fire, the security guard activated the emergency fire alarm button to alert the entire hospital, and at the same time called the Fire Police force at 114.
Authorities rescue many people inside buildings, during a drill situation
Firefighters tried to move furniture and guide 200 people in the hospital to escape. On some floors, people could not escape by the stairs so they moved to the balcony and waved for help.
Upon receiving the news, PC07 Department mobilized dozens of vehicles and officers and soldiers to the scene to carry out fire fighting and rescue trapped people.
People trapped inside were rescued by authorities and taken to first aid stations.
During this process, the Fire Prevention Team rescued 10 people and guided more than 500 people to escape; promptly moved motorbikes from the basement out. At the same time, the authorities used a ladder truck to rescue dozens of people to safety.

Associate Professor, Dr. Truong Quang Dinh, Director of the City Children's Hospital, said that since its establishment, the hospital has been equipped with a modern fire prevention system; every year, it coordinates with the Ho Chi Minh City Police to train nearly 1,000 officers and employees.

In addition, the hospital also established an on-site fire fighting team with more than 100 members ready to carry out fire fighting work immediately in case of an incident.
"For the on-site fire fighting force of 60 to 100 people, the police have given strict training on how to use fire extinguishers, how to use water hoses, escape routes, and emergency exits. In addition, basic knowledge on how to rescue people from smoke inhalation is also fully trained," Associate Professor, Dr. Truong Quang Dinh said.
