Opening martial arts classes since the early days of the cultural house's operation, Mr. Huynh Huu Thanh, a Karatedo club coach, said that he is organizing 2 classes with about 40 students arranged throughout the week. Before the cultural house was built, Mr. Thanh taught martial arts classes in the yard of a school in Binh Khanh ward. When expanding the class to the cultural house, he found it more convenient, students have a place to practice, the cultural house creates favorable conditions to support mats, and it is safer for them to practice. Every 3 months, the martial arts class organizes a belt exam once, the organization is quite favorable; in sports festivals and cultural events, members of the martial arts class also participate in martial arts performances. The space of the cultural house is also used to exchange and improve students' skills. Mr. Thanh often invites clubs in the province to come here to compete, survey, and improve their experience.
After work, Mr. Tran Quang Vinh (Binh Khanh Ward, Long Xuyen City) attends a dance class and takes his two children to learn badminton and dancesport. “Instead of leaving my children at home to play on their own on the weekends, worrying that they will be “addicted to their phones”, I bring them here so that they can both study and have an environment to interact with their peers. Thanks to their natural talent and foundation, the children catch up very quickly. During that time, I learned to dance to relax and improve my health. “After the study period, my two children have clearly improved, interacted with their friends and are more confident. My house is in Binh Thanh Dong Commune (Phu Tan District), I work in Long Xuyen City, and can only take my children here on weekends. Yet every week they eagerly look forward to it. During the summer vacation, I will let my children study all week and register them for other gifted subjects according to their interests to develop their physical fitness comprehensively” - Mr. Tran Quang Vinh said.
In September 2020, the Provincial Labor Culture House was inaugurated and put into use. Thanks to its spacious, modern and airy space, this place is also chosen by trade unions at all levels to organize competitions, performances, sports festivals, events to launch Workers' Month, Tet reunion, workers' playgrounds, Children's Day, Mid-Autumn Festival... It is expected that this summer, based on the needs and number of participating children, the unit will organize skill classes, sports, artistic talents or useful summer camps for children.
