The admission score based on the high school graduation exam results of Hanoi University of Science and Technology last year was the lowest in the past three years, and many majors are expected to continue to decrease this year.
Majors in the field of Information Technology such as Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Technology, Data Science and Artificial Intelligence are always the hottest at Hanoi University of Science and Technology, attracting many candidates, so the benchmark score is always high, usually above 28.
In the past three years, this group of majors had the highest benchmark score in 2020. At that time, Computer Science required 29.04 points, meaning candidates had to score an average of 9.68 points per subject to pass, if there were no priority points.
By 2021, the benchmark for the Information Technology major at Hanoi University of Science and Technology had slightly decreased but was still among the highest. Therefore, the school decided not to recruit some majors using this method in 2022, but only recruited talents and based on the results of the thinking assessment exam organized by the school.
However, this year, Hanoi University of Science and Technology has restored admission to all majors based on high school graduation exam scores.

Many engineering majors of Hanoi University of Science and Technology have tended to have a decreasing benchmark score over the past three years, such as Mechatronic Engineering, Aeronautical Engineering, Electronics - Telecommunications Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Automotive Engineering...
Forecasting this year's benchmark scores, Dr. Le Dinh Nam, Deputy Head of Admissions Department, Hanoi University of Science and Technology, said that the benchmark scores for the Automation, Mechatronics and Mathematics majors may remain the same or not change significantly. For the remaining majors, the scores may decrease. In particular, for some hot majors that are of interest to candidates and have high competition, such as Information Technology, the benchmark scores may increase slightly.
Hanoi University of Science and Technology's benchmark scores for the past three years for all training programs are as follows:

Tuition fees at Hanoi University of Science and Technology in the past three years have been 20 million VND per year for standard programs and the highest is about 80 million VND for international training programs.
In 2023, tuition fees at Hanoi University of Science and Technology will range from 23-90 million VND per year. Of which, the average tuition fee for the standard program is about 23-29 million VND per year, depending on the major. Compared to last year, this level increased by about 3-6 million.
Tuition fees for high-quality programs are around 33-42 million VND, for Data Science and Artificial Intelligence; Logistics and Supply Chain Management, Hanoi University of Science and Technology charges 57-58 million VND.
For international programs and international training partnerships, Hanoi University of Science and Technology tuition fees are around 25-45 million VND per semester. For the Business Administration (TROY-BA) and Computer Science (TROY-IT) programs in cooperation with Troy University in the US, tuition fees are 90 million VND per year, but there are three semesters per year.
The school says tuition fees may be adjusted each year but will not increase more than 8-10% per year. (See tuition fees for each program).
This year, Hanoi University of Science and Technology will enroll 7,985 students. Of these, 15-20% will be for talent selection, 85-90% will be based on high school graduation exam scores and thinking assessment organized by the school (See quota for each major).
