Dr. Nguyen Trung Nhan, Head of Training Department, Ho Chi Minh City University of Industry, said that after the first virtual filtering nationwide, the trend of university admission scores this year will decrease in all fields by 0.5-1 point compared to last year, except for a few specific fields such as Medicine and Pharmacy.
Ho Chi Minh City University of Industry has nearly 50,000 admission applications, of which the number of first-choice applications is about 10,000, accounting for about 20% of the total applications.
According to Mr. Nhan, the country has only conducted virtual filtering once, but it shows that the benchmark scores tend to decrease, especially for majors that recruit groups such as A01, A00, D01. The benchmark scores for the Health major group may remain the same as last year or have a small difference.
Mr. Pham Thai Son, Director of Admissions at the University of Industry and Trade, informed that according to statistics, there were 32,931 registered wishes, of which, wishes 1, 2, 3 had about 15,000 students. Initial statistics from the school showed that the majors of Information Technology, Marketing, Business Administration, Food Technology... each had about 2,000 registered wishes. For other majors, the number of wishes was about 200 - 800 wishes. The majors of Environmental Engineering and Aquaculture Technology had the fewest wishes, about 140 wishes.
From the number of wishes and the first virtual filtering, Mr. Son said that the preliminary standard score will be between 16 and 22 points, 0.5 to 2 points lower than last year. The reason is that this year the number of wishes is about the same as last year, but because the school's quota has changed in a higher direction than last year, the score will be lower than last year.
Ms. Nguyen Thi Xuan Dung, Director of the Communication Center, Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology, said that the first round of virtual filtering returned more than 110% of the school's results. With this return rate, in the next virtual filtering rounds, the school plans to adjust the admission scores of some majors that attract high numbers of candidates to achieve a call rate of over 100%.
Ms. Dung also informed that this year, Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology has 40,200 registered wishes. It is expected that the school's enrollment results will be able to meet the enrollment quota, but a few majors will have admission scores 0.5 to 1 point higher than the floor score such as Information Technology, Multimedia Communications, Graphic Design, Logistics and Supply Chain Management, Automotive Engineering Technology, Marketing...
