TPO - The Lunar New Year holiday for students in Ho Chi Minh City is expected to start from January 23, 2025 (December 24) to February 2, 2025 (January 5), a total of 11 days, 2 days more than before.

On December 6, the leader of the Department of Education and Training of Ho Chi Minh City said that the Department has submitted a proposal to the People's Committee of Ho Chi Minh City to increase the Tet holiday for students by 2 days. Ho Chi Minh City proposes 2 more days off for Tet At Ty

If this proposal is approved by the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee, students at all levels in Ho Chi Minh City will have 2 more days off for Tet than the decision within the 2024-2025 school year.

Previously, the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Education and Training announced the Tet holiday schedule according to the regulations in the 2024-2025 school year time plan issued by the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee at the beginning of the school year. According to this plan, students from kindergarten, primary school to secondary school, high school in Ho Chi Minh City will have Tet holiday from January 25, 2025 (ie December 26th of the lunar calendar) to February 2, 2025 (ie January 5th of the lunar calendar). The total time for Tet holiday in 2015 is 9 days, much less than in previous school years (on average, students have Tet holiday from 14 to 16 days).

The short Tet holiday has made it difficult for many parents, students and teachers in the provinces to return home to visit their hometowns. Therefore, when hearing the news that the Department of Education and Training proposed to increase the number of Tet holidays for students, many people were happy and hoped that the City People's Committee would approve the proposal.
