On October 25, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs coordinated with the People's Committee of Quang Ngai province to organize the Quang Ngai Introduction Conference in Hanoi. The conference aims to promote the image, potential, strengths, and opportunities to attract trade - investment, culture - tourism, agriculture, and industry of the province to international partners. Thereby, helping Quang Ngai expand the space for international integration, strengthen and deepen international connections, and promote practical cooperation.

Attending the conference were Deputy Foreign Minister Nguyen Minh Hang; Deputy Minister of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs Le Van Thanh; representatives of leaders of a number of central ministries and branches; diplomatic delegations, international organizations/agencies, foreign non-governmental organizations; typical domestic and foreign business associations/enterprises...

On the Quang Ngai side, there were Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairwoman of the Provincial People's Council Bui Thi Quynh Van; Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Dang Van Minh; leaders of departments, branches and enterprises in the area.

Speaking at the opening of the Conference, Deputy Foreign Minister Nguyen Minh Hang said that in recent years, in the context of the world situation being extremely complicated and unpredictable, the world economy recovering slowly and facing many prolonged risks, Vietnam continues to be considered a bright spot in economic growth in the region. In particular, Quang Ngai is one of the localities that has maintained positive growth momentum and achieved many important results.

Deputy Minister Nguyen Minh Hang pointed out the potentials, strengths and opportunities in Quang Ngai that foreign enterprises can grasp in the current period: strategic location in the key economic region of the Central region, an area identified as one of the important growth poles of the country; having a developed, interconnected and conveniently connected infrastructure network, with a system of roads, waterways, railways, airways and a system of 7 seaports, connecting important traffic routes of the region; being a locality with a very dynamically developing economy; being a land with a lot of room and potential for tourism development; being a land rich in historical, cultural and revolutionary traditions...

According to the Deputy Minister, the abundant development potential and the correct orientation of the Provincial Leaders have been creating the driving force and resources for the new development period of Quang Ngai. At the same time, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, with the determination of Economic diplomacy for development is a key task, and will continue to play the role of a bridge, paving the way, and supporting the connection between Quang Ngai in particular and other localities of Vietnam with international friends. "We are committed to continuing to do our best, supporting and accompanying Quang Ngai province as well as other localities of Vietnam in implementing foreign affairs and international integration to serve the development of localities," said Deputy Minister Nguyen Minh Hang.

At the Conference, Chairman of Quang Ngai Provincial People's Committee Dang Van Minh presented an overview of the province's favorable factors such as strategic location in the key economic region of the Central region; developed infrastructure with a system of roads, waterways, railways, airways and a system of 7 seaports; a dynamically developing economy; human resources meeting the needs of investors with a system of leading universities, colleges and vocational schools in the country; rich tourism potential; and a team of highly qualified, enthusiastic and dedicated leaders to the development of the province.

"Currently, Quang Ngai has completed the Provincial Planning for the period 2021-2030, with a vision to 2050, and the General Planning for the construction of Dung Quat Economic Zone to 2035, with a vision to 2045. At the same time, in the Central's development orientation for the North Central and Central Coast regions to 2030, with a vision to 2045, two development focuses are identified: 'Expanding and building a national refining, petrochemical and energy center in Dung Quat Economic Zone' and 'Sea and island tourism center in Ly Son', which will create many development opportunities for Quang Ngai province and investors in the coming time", Mr. Dang Van Minh informed.

During the discussion session, representatives of JETRO, Hong Kong Business Association in Vietnam (HKBAV), European Business Association in Vietnam (EuroCham), Binh Son Refining and Petrochemical Joint Stock Company, Doosan Enerbility Vietnam Co., Ltd. presented their business and investment plans in the province in the coming time.

At the discussion session, delegates and representatives of the Province discussed issues related to insurance, labor, and specific investment and business policies.

In her closing speech at the Conference, Ms. Bui Thi Quynh Van, Member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairwoman of the People's Council of Quang Ngai province, believed that this is an important premise for domestic and international investors, enterprises, businessmen and Quang Ngai province to come closer together, understand each other better, create many opportunities for cooperation in various fields, we will establish cooperative relationships and links in production and business.

"We hope that in the coming time, Quang Ngai will receive strong investment attention from businesses and investors, in which large enterprises will be formed to lead and link with small and medium enterprises to participate in the production network and value chain, especially in the fields where the locality has strengths, much room for development and is focusing on attracting investment such as high-tech industries, clean industries, processing, manufacturing; organic agriculture, high-tech agriculture, biotechnology; tourism, services, infrastructure investment... At the same time, it will receive many ODA and NGO aid sources and especially more exciting investment projects and people-to-people exchange activities," Ms. Bui Thi Quynh Van expected.

Within the framework of the Conference, there was a ribbon-cutting ceremony to inaugurate the Quang Ngai Space Exhibition and a Memorandum of Understanding signing ceremony between the Department of Planning and Investment of Quang Ngai province and the Hong Kong Business Association in Vietnam (HKBAV); the Management Board of Dung Quat Economic Zone and the province's Industrial Parks and the Investment Information and Consulting Center (INVEST GLOBAL) under the Association of Foreign Investment Enterprises (VAFIE).
