With the determination of the political system and the active participation and response of the people, the tree planting and afforestation movement in the province has achieved many outstanding results. In the period of 2021-2024, the whole province planted more than 2,700 hectares of forest and 3.3 million scattered trees, exceeding the set plan target. The tree planting and afforestation movement in recent times has contributed to reducing environmental pollution, combating climate change, beautifying the landscape and protecting the ecological environment.

Implementing the Government's policy of launching a tree planting and afforestation movement, the Provincial People's Committee issued an annual plan for scattered tree planting, assigning specific targets and tasks to sectors and localities for implementation.
With the criteria of effective and dispersed tree planting, suitable planting area and location, ensuring that trees are managed, cared for and protected, the tree planting and afforestation movement in the province has been implemented synchronously, receiving the response and active participation of the people and business community.
Along with the implementation of the National Target Program on new rural construction (NTM), advanced NTM, and model NTM, tree planting and forestation work has been launched by local authorities, organizations, and unions, integrated into environmental protection and landscape beautification movements such as Tet tree planting; Green Sunday; building flower and tree roads on traffic routes... with hundreds of thousands of scattered trees newly planted in localities.
Through the tree planting and forest planting movement, many businesses have actively supported and donated funds to plant trees in the province, such as Honda Vietnam Company, which organized the planting of 8,000 scattered trees in Tam Dao district; Vinh Phuc Electricity Company sponsored 500 million VND to plant more than 1,000 scattered trees in schools in Lap Thach and Song Lo districts; Vietnam Joint Stock Commercial Bank for Investment and Development - Dong Do Branch (Hanoi) sponsored 500 million VND to plant 1,000 trees in schools in Vinh Tuong district; Tam and Cam Media Advertising Company Limited sponsored 700 million VND to plant 1,000 trees in Tay Thien Historical and Scenic Site (Tam Dao)...

To implement the work of forest protection and development, the Provincial People's Committee has issued many programs and plans such as the Action Program to implement the Conclusion of the Secretariat on strengthening the Party's leadership in forest management, protection and development; Plan to implement the Project to improve forest quality to preserve forest ecosystems and prevent and combat natural disasters by 2030; Project to develop multi-use values of forest ecosystems by 2030, with a vision to 2050...
The Provincial People's Committee directed the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development and the Forest Protection Department to strengthen digital transformation and apply information technology to improve the effectiveness of forest management and protection, such as the Forest Monitoring and Management System (FMS); use unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) to serve forest management and protection; build a forest monitoring system to serve digital transformation in forestry in the province, etc.
In performing its professional tasks, the Provincial Forest Protection Department directed the Forest Protection Units to closely coordinate with localities with forests and related units to strengthen propaganda and management work, promptly prevent and handle violations of forestry laws.

In 2024, the provincial Forest Protection force conducted more than 150 patrols on the circulation of forest products, inspected nearly 70 organizations and individuals who are forest owners, owners of forest product processing and trading establishments, detected 48 violations, and issued 49 decisions on administrative sanctions in the forestry sector with a total fine of 69 million VND.
In addition, the forest rangers coordinated with local authorities with forests to inspect, review, detect and handle 20 violations on forestry land.
With the goal of maintaining a stable forest coverage rate of 25% according to the Resolution of the Provincial Party Congress, term 2020 - 2025, in 2025, the province aims to plant 600 hectares of forest and nearly 737 thousand scattered trees; continue to stabilize the structure of 3 types of forests, improve the quality of protective forests, production forests, and biodiversity value of special-use forests.
To complete the set goals, the Provincial People's Committee directed all levels, sectors and localities to focus on reviewing and arranging suitable land funds for tree planting, based on urban and new rural criteria, developing tree planting plans with density according to regulations; strengthening inspection, supervision, application of information technology in forest management and protection, evaluation and acceptance of tree planting and afforestation movements, forest development work; continuing to promote propaganda work, actively attracting socialized resources to effectively implement tree planting and afforestation movements, forest protection work in localities...
