Vung Liem Primary School where the incident occurred
According to a report from Vung Liem Primary School, on December 7, during math homework, Ms. Ph.Th.L called male student NXH (10 years old, class 5/4) to the board to do homework.
Ms. L. carefully instructed H. on how to do the exercise, but H. still could not do it. In anger, Ms. L. used a ruler to hit H.'s butt once and continued to instruct him again, but he still did it wrong, so she continued to hit him with another whip. After that, Ms. L. continued to instruct him again, but H. still did it wrong.
On the evening of December 10, the family discovered a bruise on H.'s buttocks, so they were very upset and questioned the teacher. At around 6:35 a.m. on December 11, Ms. L. met H.'s mother to apologize and admit that she had done wrong, hoping that the family would forgive her.
H's prescription
At the school meeting, Ms. L. said that the cause came from the pressure to ensure student quality and expectations from parents. According to Ms. L., this was the end of the first semester, some students had not yet achieved basic knowledge, including H.
Therefore, during the teaching process, Ms. L. admitted that she could not control her emotions, leading to the above incident. "I realized my mistake, seriously reviewed and accepted the reprimand before the school board for affecting the school and the teaching council," Ms. L. stated.
Speaking to Thanh Nien Newspaper, H.'s family said that the student was diagnosed with post-traumatic stress disorder by a doctor. The family wants the school to handle the case seriously.
