This candidate won third prize in the provincial literature exam for excellent students.

The 10th grade entrance exam for Hung Vuong High School for the Gifted, Pleiku City (Gia Lai) has 1,325 candidates registered across the province, an increase of 125 candidates compared to the 2023-2024 school year.
Of these, English is the subject with the largest number of registered candidates with 410 students, followed by Literature with 334 students. After announcing the exam scores, the exam board will receive the candidates' applications for review of the exams within 1 week.
As Dan Tri reported, in the 10th grade entrance exam of Hung Vuong High School for the Gifted, Pleiku City (Gia Lai), there was an error in question 2 (5 points) of part II - the writing section, the exam quoted an excerpt from the speech "Message on Beauty and Freedom" by writer Nguyen Quang Thieu, Chairman of the Vietnam Writers Association, at the East Asian Poetry Conference in the Age of Globalization in Manhea, Korea.
"Poetry does not produce rice or white gold, but poetry creates dreams for the sower. Only sacred and splendid dreams can help people overcome the darkness of desire and sin, reach out to their fellow human beings to share and offer the beauty of the desire to live to all people."
From this excerpt, the test requires candidates to understand the statement in the excerpt and clarify the above statement through some poetic works in the Grade 9 Literature program.
After the exam, parents and students were in an uproar when it was reported that the original quote was incorrect. In fact, the correct quote was "Poetry does not produce golden rice, white rice", not "rice, white gold".
