In recent times, Tuy Hoa City has always made efforts to incorporate green tree planning into the general urban planning, aiming for professionalism and synchronization through projects such as planning to renovate and develop the green tree system in the city until 2025, with a vision to 2030; investing in construction and renovation of campuses and parks in wards and communes; renovating the urban green tree system in stages, gradually replacing trees of the wrong species, at risk of falling, bending, or tilting, damaging the landscape; completing the marking of tree names and codes throughout the city; maintaining tree pruning on the streets...

Mr. Nguyen Khoa Khang, Head of the City's Economic, Infrastructure and Urban Department, said: The locality has signed contracts with two units specializing in green trees, Phu Yen Urban Environment Joint Stock Company and Hoang Phuong Company Limited. These two units maintain the green tree system throughout the city, carry out watering, fertilizing, weeding, trimming hedges, ornamental trees and ensuring hygiene and order on median strips, traffic islands and parks. At construction works and headquarters, the city requires investors and units to ensure adequate green space, in harmony with the construction infrastructure and surrounding landscape. Since 2022, Tuy Hoa City has implemented a project to plant 2 million trees in the city, up to now, nearly 1.2 million trees of all kinds have been planted in the city. In addition to the state budget, there are also contributions from units, businesses, individuals...

According to Mr. Tran Minh Hoang, Director of Phu Yen Urban Environment Joint Stock Company, the unit supports about 10,000 trees with heights from 0.5-1.5m, planted in some parks and median strips with low tree density. The company also ensures tree care until the trees grow and develop stably. For tree care work according to the contract signed with the city, the unit arranges workers in tree care teams for more professional care, so that the trees are always watered and pruned promptly.

Song Cau Town and Dong Hoa Town also always ensure that trees are planted wherever infrastructure is available to support aesthetics, create highlights for street spaces and reduce heat in the urban core. According to the People's Committee of Dong Hoa Town, the locality has just established a Project for collection and transportation of household waste, public sanitation and care and management of trees in Dong Hoa Town for the period 2025-2027. Accordingly, trees are not only planted on the streets but also aesthetically trimmed and planted according to design in parks and public spaces. Trees on the streets are planned synchronously based on the height of the trees, the color of flowers, leaves, etc.

Green space connection

According to the People's Committee of Song Cau Town, in addition to the roads, the locality focuses on green spaces in parks. Therefore, to increase the green color of the urban area, the town has gradually increased the number of parks. In addition to the existing number of parks, the town has 11 more parks and small parks when 5 communes become wards according to the planning roadmap to upgrade the urban area from a town to a city. In addition, the town is implementing many new park projects including Phuoc Ly Quarter Park Technical Infrastructure (1.53ha); North Park of the town center (phase 2); South Park of Tam Giang River; Nui Mot Green Park (3ha) ...

The strip of specialized green parks, seamless, running from Street 14 to Tran Phu Street, connecting with the area of ​​Ho Son Lake - Thanh Thieu Nien Park - Van Kiep Park... helps increase the ratio of green trees - water surface to 52.3% (66.19ha/126.56ha). In particular, creating a connection between green trees and the river and lake system in the city, forming a chain of lakeside parks throughout the urban axis including Sen Lake, Hoa Son Lake, Van Kiep Lake and flowing to the East Sea.

Tuy Hoa City People's Committee has just adjusted the planning of two roads: Tran Phu Street (in the North along both sides of Bau Ha Canal) and Nguyen Huu Tho Street (in the North connecting to Phuoc Hau - Lien Tri residential area). These two roads will connect with Road 14 to form a seamless traffic axis of the parks into a strip of green parks with specialized water features, gradually becoming the central park of the whole city.

The adjustment of planning of roads and residential areas aims to create connections between small green spaces to create a large green urban area throughout the city. In the future, this will also be a chain of central parks supporting the development of green tourism, turning Tuy Hoa urban space into a green space, close to nature and a livable city.
