Scientist La Fu-jai is known as China's female artificial intelligence genius - the person behind the successful projects of Alibaba and DeepSeek. La Fu-jai was born in 1995 in Sichuan, graduated with a bachelor's degree in Computer Science from Beijing Normal University (China).

As a third-year student, Phuc Nhai joined the Artificial Intelligence Laboratory of Peking University (China) as an intern. Thanks to that, during this time, Phuc Nhai determined her main research direction to be the field of natural language processing (NLP).

After graduating from university, Phuc Nhai studied for a master's degree in Computational Linguistics at Peking University (China). In 2019, at the ACL conference on artificial intelligence in China, Phuc Nhai made an impression by publishing 8 papers. To date, she has published more than 20 papers at leading international conferences.

With the halo of being the author of 8 papers at the ACL conference, graduating with a master's degree, Phuc Nhai was invited to work at the Artificial Intelligence Laboratory of Alibaba's DAMO Academy. Here, Phuc Nhai participated in developing the VECO multilingual pre-training model and the AliceMind open source project.

In 2022, Phuc Nhai joined Huanfang Quantitative to research algorithms and model deep learning strategies. In May 2023, CEO Luong Van Phong founded DeepSeek, at which time Phuc Nhai joined the company as a Deep Learning researcher.

After 1 year of establishment, in May 2024, DeepSeek launched the DeepSeek-V2 model, marking Phuc Nhai's mark here. This is the model that laid the foundation for the rise of DeepSeek-R1, which has been shaking up the technology world in recent days.

This achievement is not only thanks to founder Luong Van Phong, but also the contribution of the artificial intelligence technology development team - an important factor helping DeepSeek make a leap forward on the world technology map today.

After leaving her mark at Alibaba and DeepSeek, in early January, Phuc Nhai was invited by Xiaomi CEO Loi Quan to take on the position of Head of Artificial Intelligence Laboratory with a salary of 10 million NDT/year (about 34.9 billion VND). Regarding this issue, responding to Red Star News on January 25, Phuc Nhai said that she is still considering this invitation.
