A resident of A Luoi District, Hue City, brought in a rare golden monkey listed in the Vietnam Red Book. This person reported that this wild animal was accidentally caught by his family, suspected to be a stray. The family locked the golden monkey in a cage and then handed it over to the forest rangers.
On February 11, according to news from the Forest Protection Department of A Luoi District, Hue City, this agency has just received a golden monkey, a rare wild animal, voluntarily handed over by a local resident.

The monkey handed over to the A Luoi District Forest Protection Department is a golden monkey weighing 3.5 kg and in normal health condition.
The person who handed over this golden monkey was Mr. Le Hong No's family (residing in Lam Dot commune, A Luoi district). It is known that Mr. Le Hong No had previously accidentally caught this golden monkey while the animal was "lost".
After receiving the golden monkey, A Luoi District Forest Protection Department is completing procedures according to the law on wildlife protection and biodiversity conservation to release it back into the natural environment.
