The current owner of the house is Mr. Do Huu Minh (born in 1956). According to Mr. Minh, the house has gone through 6 generations, of which he is the fourth generation.

Mr. Minh’s great-grandfather, a skilled farmer, built a spacious wooden house that was passed down through many generations. During Mr. Minh’s time, he expanded the premises, invested in additional waiting areas and rest houses, creating the best conditions to welcome tourists to visit and learn about the ancient house.

The house has an area of about 80 square meters, built in 3 years in the traditional Vietnamese architectural style, including three main rooms and two side rooms (three outside rooms and two storage rooms), with an ancient yin-yang tiled roof.

The house structure consists of 36 large wooden columns, along with a system of rafters and beams made from old jackfruit wood - a type of wood   highly durable, termite-free, helping the structure to last over the years. According to Mr. Minh, the sophisticated patterns on the pillars were carved by artisans from Kim Bong carpentry village (Hoi An, Quang Nam), demonstrating the ingenuity and talent in every detail.

Inside the house, a large horizontal lacquered board is solemnly hung in the middle room, engraved with three Chinese characters "Tich Thien Duong", meaning to advise children to accumulate virtue, do good deeds, and live a kind life. In addition, many ancient objects from long ago are also carefully preserved by the owner, helping to preserve the historical value of the house.

Although it has undergone many renovations and repairs, the house still retains its ancient features, helping visitors easily feel the beauty of ancient Vietnamese architecture with sophisticated carvings and traditional construction style.

Not only does it have cultural value, Tich Thien Duong is also associated with the history of resistance. The house used to be a shelter for revolutionary soldiers, with a basement that could accommodate about 10 people. During wartime, soldiers often took refuge in the attic or in the basement.

The fence of the ancient house is covered with tree roots, creating a unique and rare landscape, bringing wild beauty and closeness to nature.

Surrounding the house is a lush green garden with many kinds of trees. Previously, the total area of the garden was 4,000m2, later the owner donated the land to build roads so now it is more than 3,000m2.

In addition to the ancient house, Mr. Do Huu Minh also invested in building many more works to serve the needs of tourists for sightseeing, resting, and enjoying tea. The campus was expanded with items such as octagonal house, hexagonal house, miniature landscape, meeting room and homestay, providing an ideal relaxing space.

In particular, Mr. Minh has built a house displaying agricultural tools, which vividly recreates the village life on the banks of the Tuy Loan River. The exhibits include mortars, rice pounding pestles, boats, baskets, winnowing carts, bamboo carrying poles, plows, hoes, etc., helping visitors better understand the ancient lifestyle and agricultural production.

Tich Thien Duong Ancient House is not only an architectural work of cultural value, but also a historical witness of a traditional countryside. With its Vietnamese architecture, space close to nature and meaningful historical stories, this place has become an unmissable destination for tourists who love to explore culture and experience nostalgic space.
