To proactively prevent and combat the A/H1pdm influenza epidemic, the Provincial People's Committee directed the Department of Health to strengthen surveillance activities, early detection of influenza cases, and implement measures to thoroughly handle outbreaks and limit widespread spread. The health sector stepped up surveillance of severe pneumonia cases and clusters of influenza cases in the community and medical examination and treatment facilities; promptly collected samples and tested to identify the causative agent.
According to information from the Department of Health of Binh Dinh province, as of November 20, 2024, the whole province has recorded 842 cases of influenza and monitored 22 cases of severe pneumonia suspected to be caused by the virus. Test results showed 9 cases positive for Influenza A/H1pdm (pandemic); of which, 4 cases died. In Dak Nong province, from the beginning of 2024 to present, 111 cases of influenza have been recorded. Of which, Dak R'lap district has 93 cases, Cu Jut district has 18 cases and has not recorded any cases of Influenza A/H1pdm.
Admission, emergency care, triage, and treatment, with special attention paid to influenza cases in high-risk groups such as pregnant women, people with chronic diseases (cardiovascular disease, tuberculosis, diabetes, malnutrition, AIDS patients), the elderly, and children, must be ensured.
The Department of Agriculture and Rural Development coordinates with the People's Committees of districts and cities to organize supervision and implementation of measures to prevent and control avian influenza according to regulations. The Department of Agriculture proactively collects samples to monitor the circulation of avian influenza virus in high-risk areas in the province; promptly detects to be proactive in preventing and controlling avian influenza.
The Department of Education and Training directs educational institutions to implement measures to prevent and control influenza epidemics according to the guidance of the health sector; monitor the health of children and students and immediately notify medical facilities when detecting suspected cases of the disease for timely isolation and treatment; mobilize families to take their children for full and timely vaccination.
Propaganda activities about the epidemic, the risk of disease and measures to prevent and control influenza; mobilizing people to proactively get vaccinated against influenza strains for which vaccines are available... need to be promoted.
The People's Committees of districts and cities urgently direct communes, wards and towns in the area to proactively deploy measures to prevent and control influenza.
Localities should strengthen information, propaganda and mobilization work to encourage people to proactively get vaccinated against influenza, implement measures to prevent and control influenza; focus on personal hygiene, home hygiene, and wear masks when going to public areas.
