After the presentation of credentials, President Mohamed Irfaan Ali received Ambassador Pham Thi Kim Hoa, who was also in attendance with Guyana's Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation Hugh Hilton Todd and Permanent Deputy Minister Elizabeth Harper.
At the reception, the President was pleased to welcome Ambassador Pham Thi Kim Hoa to Guyana, and through the Ambassador conveyed his regards and best wishes to the leaders and people of Vietnam.

Expressing the honor of being appointed as Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam to Brazil and Guyana, Ambassador Pham Thi Kim Hoa respectfully conveyed the invitation of the President to visit Vietnam to President Mohamed Irfaan Ali and congratulated the economic achievements that the people of Guyana have achieved under the President's leadership.
The Ambassador pledged that in her position, she will actively contribute to developing the traditional friendship and good cooperation between the Governments and peoples of the two countries.
During the meeting, the President asked Vietnam to support Guyana in cooperation on agriculture, livestock and crop production.

On March 21, Ambassador Pham Thi Kim Hoa paid a courtesy call to Guyana’s Minister of Tourism, Industry and Trade Oneidge Walrond. The host country affirmed that it will always facilitate and support Vietnamese products and businesses to access the Guyana market; at the same time, it wishes to learn valuable experiences from Vietnam in developing eco-tourism.

On March 22, at the headquarters of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ambassador Pham Thi Kim Hoa had a working session with Minister Hugh Hilton Todd. Appreciating Vietnam's achievements and role in the international community, the Minister affirmed that he will always support Vietnam in multilateral forums and promote increased exchanges of high-level delegations and all levels in the coming time.
Based on the proposal of the Vietnamese side, the Permanent Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs said that visa exemption for diplomatic and official passports between the two countries will soon be granted to promote visits between the two countries.
At the same time, the Director of Bilateral Affairs of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs emphasized that Guyana especially values and wants to expand cooperation as well as strengthen relations with countries in the Southeast Asian region, including Vietnam.

In Georgetown, there are about 20 Vietnamese people, mainly working in the construction and supermarket services sectors.
