Join hands to build new countryside
The Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Dai Loc district said that up to now, the whole district has 15/17 communes meeting new rural standards (NTM), 1 commune meeting model NTM standards, 1 commune meeting advanced NTM standards, 23 villages meeting model NTM village standards. The results achieved have the joint efforts and important contributions of the people throughout the district.
It has become a habit that on the morning of the 15th of every month, in Phu My village (Dai Hiep commune), Ms. Pham Thi Cuc and the people join hands to clean up the environment in the residential area. This activity has been maintained by the people for many years, contributing to raising awareness of environmental protection, creating a green, clean and beautiful rural landscape.
"Joining hands to clean the environment not only makes life cleaner but also makes people in the village and group more united and close-knit" - Ms. Cuc said.
The role of Phu My people's strength has been affirmed over time. For example, in the past, people contributed their efforts and money to build a cultural house and a memorial house for heroic martyrs. The village was also chosen to build a smart village, and for many years has been in the top of the emulation movement of the commune...
Ms. Dang Thi Hien - Party Cell Secretary and Head of Phu My Village said that the whole village has 366 households and 8 solidarity groups. In early 2019, Phu My was selected to build a model new rural residential area. Thanks to the consensus and solidarity of the people, at the end of 2019, the village was recognized as meeting the standards.
Ms. Hien shared: “If people do not support, besides building, the process of maintaining and improving the criteria will be very difficult. Therefore, the role of propaganda and mobilization of the Front and organizations is very important.”
According to Ms. Nguyen Thi Dien - Chairwoman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Dai Hiep commune, building new rural areas or advanced and exemplary new rural areas are correct policies, in line with the people's wishes, and have been supported by the people in the commune.
Through the construction of new rural areas from 2014 to present, the material and spiritual life of the people has been constantly improved. Many economic development models have brought about efficiency. Cultural institutions in villages and communes have been built with the people's contributions.
Mobilize people to care for people
After many years of living in a dilapidated level 4 house, in 2023, the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Dai Lanh commune supported 50 million VND to help Ms. Dang Thi Thu's family (Ha Tan village) build a new house.

With the support of the Front, Mrs. Thu sold her herd of 9 buffaloes for nearly 100 million VND and borrowed more to build a new house with a total cost of nearly 250 million VND. Mrs. Thu's house is next to the river. In the past, during the rainy season, the flood water always made her and her husband worried. Now that they have built a new, solid house with a mezzanine to avoid floods, her family feels more secure.
"Having a new solid house, my husband and I are very happy and grateful for the local care and support" - Mrs. Thu shared.
Mr. Tran Ngoc Diep - Chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Dai Lanh commune said that during the 2019 - 2024 term, the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of the commune supported the construction of 41 new houses and the repair of 7 houses, with a total cost of more than 2.5 billion VND.
This result contributes to the locality completing the criteria for residential housing in the commune according to the NTM criteria, striving to achieve the advanced NTM commune standards by the end of 2024.
According to Mr. Diep, the cases that are subject to temporary housing demolition are all very difficult. Recently, the price of materials and labor has increased, if the support is only at the level of 40-50 million VND, it will be difficult for households to have the conditions to build houses.
Since then, the Commune Front has been flexible, combining resources to increase the level of support, with one family receiving 100 million VND in support, helping many families have the motivation and determination to build a house.
During the 2019 - 2024 term, the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Dai Loc district mobilized more than 13.3 billion VND from the Fund for the Poor (exceeding the target set by the resolution). Mobilized support for the construction of 170 solidarity houses with a total cost of 8.23 billion VND.
In addition, it also helps poor households and those in difficulty due to natural disasters and floods, gives gifts to people during the Lunar New Year and the Great Solidarity Festival with tens of billions of VND... Thereby contributing to a sharp reduction in the poverty rate of the district by the end of 2023 to 1.35% (mainly under social protection).
