(NADS) - On the morning of March 14, in Dong Hoi City, the Vietnam Musicians Association of Quang Binh Province held its 10th Congress for the 2025-2030 term. The Congress was honored to welcome People's Artist Pham Ngoc Khoi - Permanent Vice President of the Vietnam Musicians Association; Sculptor Phan Dinh Tien - President of the Provincial Literature and Arts Association; leaders of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, the Propaganda Department and the Provincial Party Committee's Mass Mobilization Department; and representatives of the heads of the Central specialized branches and the Music Branch.
Musician Le Duc Tri, Branch President, presented a summary report for the 2020-2025 term.
During the 9th term, the Vietnam Musicians Association of Quang Binh province has made steady progress, continuing to affirm its role in the music composition and performance movement in the locality.
From a branch with only 5 members when it was established in 2003, the number of members has now increased to 12, including 8 professional composers and 4 performing musicians. Notably, in the period 2020 - 2025, the branch has admitted two more musicians, Pham Quyen and Minh Tam.
Composition activities were promoted, with nearly 100 works published in Nhat Le and Quang Binh Culture magazines and broadcast on the provincial Radio and Television. Musicians such as Le Duc Tri, Duong Viet Chien, and Hoang Song Huong won many high awards at major composition competitions, contributing to raising the position of the Association in the Vietnamese music industry.
In addition, the Association has coordinated with agencies in the province to collect, compose and edit two poetry and music books about Quang Binh and the Border Guard force, creating a special mark in the cultural and artistic life of the province.
The Association's outstanding achievements in composing, performing activities and developing members. At the same time, the report also sets out the direction of activities for the 2025-2030 term, with the goal of promoting composition closely linked to real life, preserving and promoting traditional musical values.
Speaking at the Congress, Sculptor Phan Dinh Tien congratulated the results achieved by the Association and expressed his hope for the stronger development of the province's music movement.
The Congress elected the Executive Committee for the new term. Musician Le Duc Tri continued to be trusted and re-elected as Branch President for the 2025-2030 term. The Congress also elected 3 musicians to represent the Branch to attend the Congress of the Vietnam Musicians Association for the 2025-2030 term.
The congress ended in an atmosphere of solidarity and excitement, promising a new stage of development, making positive contributions to the music industry of Quang Binh province in particular and the whole country in general.
