In 2024, the University of Economics, Vietnam National University, Hanoi, will use 7 admission methods; in which the methods combining foreign language certificates will have a minimum score of IELTS 5.5.
Admission methods of the University of Economics include: based on high school graduation exam scores or combining international English certificates with exam scores; considering competency assessment test scores organized by Hanoi National University; based on international certificates (combining certificates with transcripts and interviews; considering SAT, ACT, A-Level scores); direct admission according to regulations of the Ministry of Education and Training and regulations of Hanoi National University (HSA); considering talented students in sports; recruiting international students.
With the method of considering high school graduation exam scores combined with foreign language certificates, the school requires candidates to have a minimum IELTS score of 5.5/9.0 or TOEFL iBT score of 72/120. In which, the score of each skill Listening, Speaking, Reading, Writing for IELTS certificate must be from 4.5 and TOEFL iBT from 15/30 or higher.
If you want to be considered based on the competency assessment test score, candidates need to achieve a minimum of 80/150 HSA points and a certificate with the above conditions, or an average English score of 5 semesters (except semester II of grade 12) of 7 or higher.
In case of choosing to consider English certificate combined with academic transcript and interview, candidates need to have an average learning result of 5 semesters in Math and one of Literature, Physics, Geography, History of 15 or higher; at the same time, have an English certificate with the following minimum level:

The IELTS score required by the University of Economics is similar to many other universities. However, the conversion levels are divided into 0.25 instead of 0.5 like most schools.
In addition, the school also enrolls students in a joint foreign training program in Business Administration with a degree from Troy University (USA). Applicants also need to have IELTS 5.5 or TOEFL iBT 72.
With the international certificate review method such as SAT, ACT and A-Level (standardized tests used for university admission in the US, Europe, Australia), candidates applying need to achieve a minimum SAT score of 1100/1600 (declaring SAT registration code is 7853-Vietnam National University-Hanoi); ACT 22/36 (Math score from 35/60, Science from 22/40); A-Level (60/100 with certificates issued by Cambridge University Examination Center; 7/9 with certificates issued by Pearson Edexcel).
Last year, the benchmark score based on the high school graduation exam results of the University of Economics, Vietnam National University, Hanoi was 34.1-35.7, calculated on a 40-point scale. The school's tuition fees range from 24.5-85 million VND per year.
