Danang University - Mission 30 years of formation and development

NDO - In 30 years of construction and development, Danang University has trained hundreds of thousands of technology engineers, managers, teachers and language experts, scientists and businessmen for the country. With the motto that human resources are the valuable asset of a university, Danang University always pays attention to the preferential treatment policy, has special policies to attract and retain talented people.

This morning (November 16), Danang University solemnly held the 30th Anniversary Ceremony of its establishment and development (1994-2024). Attending the ceremony were comrade Nguyen Kim Son, member of the Party Central Committee, Minister of Education and Training; comrade Nguyen Van Quang, member of the Party Central Committee, Head of the National Assembly Delegation of Danang, Secretary of the Danang City Party Committee and representatives of leaders of central ministries, branches, provinces and cities in the region.

Speaking at the ceremony, Minister of Education and Training Nguyen Kim Son emphasized that, up to this point, it can be affirmed that the policy of establishing Danang University - a regional university in the central region - is a correct and wise decision.

At the same time, we hope that ministries, branches, central agencies, localities and Da Nang city will continue to provide the University with valuable support and encouragement so that Da Nang University can fulfill its mission of training high-quality human resources for the country and international integration.

According to Minister Nguyen Kim Son, in the context of rapid development of science and technology, the demand for human resources is constantly changing and transforming, placing higher demands on the quality of human resources of universities.

Accordingly, the education and training sector, especially higher education, is also facing new development requirements. In this context, Danang University will have to face many major challenges.

That is the challenge of adapting to the rapid development of science and technology in training and research; the challenge of advanced university governance that both keeps up with the governance trends of advanced universities in the world and is suitable for university governance in Vietnam in accordance with the spirit of university autonomy; the challenge of meeting the demand for high-quality, diverse and constantly changing human resources for the socio-economic development needs of the country.

Along with the great expectations of the Party and the State, in developing Danang University, with the desire that this is one of the major university training centers of the country, playing an important role in training high-quality human resources, contributing to improving research capacity, technology transfer, and training human resources for the semiconductor industry and other key technology industries.

Danang University is a bright spot in the country's higher education system in terms of quality assurance, educational accreditation and international cooperation. The University of Technology is one of the first four universities in Vietnam to be accredited to meet HCERES European quality standards. Its member schools are pioneers in accreditation and achieving domestic quality standards (from 2016 to present). Danang University is in the top 3 universities with the most training programs meeting national and international standards in the country with 95 training programs, of which 53 training programs meet international standards (AUN-QA of Southeast Asia, CTI and ASIIN of Europe).

“Although we are a regional university, do not forget that our name has the two words “Da Nang”. Besides taking advantage of national and regional advantages, we need to take advantage of and stick with the opportunities and potentials of Da Nang city. Da Nang University needs to review, adjust and perfect its development strategy based on grasping the development trends of advanced universities in the world, while closely following the major orientations of the Party, State, Government and the Ministry of Education and Training to have a development roadmap to become one of the key educational institutions of the country and the Central Highlands region”, Minister Nguyen Kim Son requested.

According to Associate Professor, Dr. Nguyen Ngoc Vu, Director of Danang University, promoting the nearly 50-year tradition of its member schools, inheriting the advantage of being located in the "dynamic", "livable" city of Danang, Danang University has achieved important, great, comprehensive and proud achievements; truly "a place to nurture the intelligence and talent of the Central Highlands region as well as the whole country".

“It is a great pride to travel across the length of the country and see alumni of Danang University present in every part of the country, in key national projects/works, with their talent and enthusiasm, contributing significantly to the development of the country. In addition, Danang University also contributes to training high-quality human resources for Laos, exchanging and training international students from many different countries around the world,” Associate Professor, Dr. Nguyen Ngoc Vu emphasized.

Entering a new stage of development, to be worthy of a national key regional university, playing a key role in training high-quality human resources for the Central Highlands region in particular and the whole country in general, Danang University continues to be highly determined and make great efforts to implement key solutions and tasks to develop strongly in a sustainable direction;

Strive to realize the great aspiration of becoming a National University in the spirit of Resolution No. 26-NQ/TW, Conclusion No. 79-KL/TW) of the Politburo and Resolution No. 169/NQ-CP of the Government; truly be one of the three leading training and scientific research centers of the country, with international prestige in the region and the world, contributing to the successful implementation of the cause of industrialization and modernization of the country in the "New Era, the era of national development".

At the ceremony, Minister Nguyen Kim Son awarded Certificates of Merit to 16 groups and 30 individuals of Danang University for their outstanding achievements in contributing to the construction and development of Danang University. The Director of Danang University awarded Certificates of Merit to 12 groups and 27 individuals of Danang University for their contributions to the 30th anniversary of the construction and development of Danang University.
