Provincial National Assembly delegates give comments on the Draft Law on Organization of Local Government (amended)

Continuing the program of the 9th extraordinary session of the 15th National Assembly, on the morning of February 13, the National Assembly discussed in groups the Draft Law on Government Organization (amended); the Draft Law on Organization of Local Government (amended); and the Draft Resolution of the National Assembly regulating the handling of a number of issues related to the reorganization of the State apparatus.

The National Assembly delegation of the province discussed at group number 5 including Vinh Phuc, Quang Nam, Kien Giang and Lao Cai provinces.

Discussing in groups related to the Draft Law on Organization of Local Government (amended), delegate Nguyen Van Manh, member of the Provincial Party Committee, Deputy Head of the Provincial National Assembly Delegation, suggested that it is necessary to study the process of electing committee members during the term of the People's Council to reduce administrative procedures. In addition, clearly stipulate the composition and content of the opening session of the regular meeting of the Provincial People's Council accordingly.

Agreeing with the scope of the Law on Local Government (amended), delegate Tran Van Tien, the National Assembly Delegation of the province, suggested that it is necessary to clarify what local governments in wards that do not organize People's Councils are called to be consistent with the Law on the Capital and some regulations in some cities where the National Assembly has a resolution not to organize People's Councils in wards of districts and cities.

In the afternoon of the same day, the National Assembly held a plenary session in the hall, listening to the submission and report on the examination of the investment policy for the Lao Cai - Hanoi - Hai Phong railway construction project; the submission and report on the examination of the draft Resolution of the National Assembly on piloting a number of specific and special mechanisms and policies to develop the urban railway network system in Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City.

At the end of the session, the National Assembly discussed in the hall the draft Law on Promulgation of Legal Documents (amended).
