On March 31, the Department of Education and Training of Lien Chieu District, Da Nang City, said that the leaders of Nguyen Van Troi Primary School (Ton Duc Thang Street, Lien Chieu District) are coordinating with the Hoa Khanh Nam Ward Police and Lien Chieu District Police to verify the incident in which a student of the school was approached by a stranger.
According to a report from Nguyen Van Troi Primary School, on the afternoon of March 28, a student of class 4/7 was approached by a stranger at the school gate. The stranger told the student that "your father had an accident" and asked the student to go with him to the hospital to visit his father. However, the student did not listen. The stranger continued to entice him by offering laughing gas, but the student resolutely refused to go with him.
Da Nang warns of strangers approaching students at school gates
On the evening of March 29, the student told his parents about the incident and the parents reported it to the homeroom teacher. Upon receiving the information, Nguyen Van Troi Primary School asked teachers to reinforce reminders to students not to leave the school gate if their parents have not come to pick them up, and not to contact or follow strangers.
The Department of Education and Training of Da Nang City also directed units and schools in the area to regularly remind students to be vigilant with strangers.
