(NLDO) – Police determined that the reason Phan Tan Son poured gasoline and set fire to his house was due to a conflict over the division of family land.
On the evening of February 7, a leader of the People's Committee of Hoa Thanh Commune, Ca Mau City, Ca Mau Province, said that Ms. LKA (72 years old), who was severely burned by her son when his house was set on fire, died after more than a week of treatment.
"Tomorrow morning, the People's Committee of Hoa Thanh commune will form a delegation to visit, express condolences and support the family in arranging the funeral for Mrs. A." - this person added.
Previously, the Investigation Police Agency of Ca Mau Province Police initiated a case, prosecuted the accused and temporarily detained Phan Tan Son (52 years old; residing in Hoa Thanh commune) to investigate the act of "Murder".
As reported by Nguoi Lao Dong Newspaper, on the evening of January 30, the house of Mrs. PMC (45 years old - Son's younger sister) was doused with gasoline and set on fire by someone.
The incident was reported to local authorities. Authorities quickly arrived to secure the scene, collect information and identify the suspect as Son.
The fire caused Ms. C. to suffer minor burns; Ms. A. (Son's biological mother) suffered severe burns and was transferred to a hospital in Can Tho City. Ms. PVD (48 years old, Son's younger sister) suffered burns to her arms and legs and was taken to Ca Mau General Hospital for treatment.
