Da Nang to host Asian Golf Tourism Convention 2025

On the afternoon of March 31, the press conference to open the Asian Golf Tourism Congress (AGTC 2025) took place in Da Nang City. The program attracted nearly 100 domestic and foreign delegates, including leaders of departments, branches, districts, the President of the World Golf Tourism Association, tourism businesses and press agencies.

The Asian Golf Tourism Congress will take place from March 30 to April 5, 2025. This year, AGTC 2025 is expected to have 450 delegates from more than 33 countries and territories, including experts, golf course operators and golf travel agencies - official members of the World Golf Tourism Association.

The event includes many activities such as the Survey Program for golf tour operators (March 31 - April 1, 2025); AGTC Golf Championship 2025 (April 2, 2025); Asia Golf Tourism Conference with more than 4,500 meetings between buyers and sellers (April 3 - 4, 2025); Danang City Reception and IAGTO Awards Ceremony (April 4, 2025).

Mr. Tan Van Vuong, Deputy Director of the Department of Tourism of Da Nang City, said that hosting the 2025 Asian Golf Tourism Congress is a valuable opportunity to introduce to international friends a dynamic, modern coastal city with outstanding tourism potential; promote the image of golf tourism. "At the same time, this event will help our city affirm its position on the regional and international golf tourism map and open up many opportunities for cooperation and investment to develop golf tourism and luxury tourism." - he said.

In fact, in recent times, Da Nang has promoted golf destinations in many international markets, contributing to increasing the number of tourists coming to the city. According to statistics from the Central Golf Course Alliance, in 2024, the total number of golf rounds at Central courses increased by 13.8% compared to 2023 and is expected to reach 410,000 golf rounds in 2025, continuing to increase by more than 10% compared to 2024.

Mr. Peter Walton, President of the World Golf Tourism Association “When we first brought AGTC to Da Nang in 2017, there were only 4 golf courses in Da Nang and Central Vietnam. We expected that the success of the event would promote the sustainable development of golf tourism here. Eight years later, we returned and witnessed strong growth with 8 world-class golf courses”.

Golf tourism in Da Nang and Central Vietnam is not only growing in the number of golf courses but also in the number of golf rounds played. According to statistics from the Central Golf Course Alliance, in 2024, the total number of golf rounds at Central courses reached 387,000 rounds, an increase of 13.8% compared to 2023 and is expected to reach 410,000 rounds in 2025, continuing to increase by more than 10% compared to 2024.

“We knew that Da Nang would be an attractive destination for the 11th AGTC Conference, but we did not expect to receive such great attention. AGTC 2025 continues to affirm the attractiveness of the host city when attracting more than 450 delegates, far exceeding the 340 delegates of AGTC 2024 in Abu Dhabi,” Mr. Peter Walton shared.
