On September 29, the Department of Planning and Investment of Thua Thien-Hue province had a working session with Hue International General Hospital Joint Stock Company, the investor of the international hospital project on the "golden land" at 2 Nguyen Tri Phuong, Phu Hoi Ward (Hue City), to announce the establishment of a team to inspect the construction progress of the project.
Inspection delegation of the Department of Planning and Investment of Thua Thien-Hue province worked with the project investor.
According to the representative of the inspection team, the slow progress of the international specialized hotel and hospital project has been monitored by the People's Council of Thua Thien-Hue province and a resolution has been issued to include it in the list of issues that need to be inspected and handled. The Provincial People's Committee also issued a document requesting the Department of Planning and Investment to inspect and report on solutions.
At the meeting, Mr. Nguyen Xuan Duc, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Hue International General Hospital Joint Stock Company, said that the project was behind schedule due to many objective and subjective reasons, such as the impact of the Covid-19 epidemic and capital mobilization by enterprises.
According to Mr. Duc, up to now, the company has invested more than 250 billion VND in the project, the project has basically completed the rough construction items with a scale of 2 basements, 15 floors above ground on an area of more than 2,500m2 and is continuing to be completed. Currently, the company has a capital plan to continue investing.

"This is the only project in Thua Thien-Hue that up to now only uses the company's own capital and has not borrowed any money. This is a passionate project and we are doing it for real, so we commit to investing in accordance with the law and progress according to the province's requirements in the coming time," said Mr. Nguyen Xuan Duc.
Previously, at the "golden land" at the intersection of Ly Thuong Kiet - Nguyen Tri Phuong - Hanoi streets (Hue City), there was a project of a 5-star hotel complex - international conference center and office building invested by Song Da Real Estate Company, starting in 2003. The project was then transferred to VIWASEEN Hue Investment and Construction Joint Stock Company, and then this company continued to transfer it to Thanh Dat Housing Trading Joint Stock Company.
By 2017, after 15 years (2003 - 2017) of sluggish investment, the project continued to be transferred to Hue International General Hospital Joint Stock Company to invest in an international specialized hospital - hotel project. The Chairman of the People's Committee of Thua Thien-Hue province also issued a document agreeing in principle to allow the conversion of the function from the supermarket project, office building, hotel, conference center... (under construction at No. 2 Nguyen Tri Phuong, Phu Hoi Ward, Hue City) into an international specialized hospital - hotel project.
Two investment projects are behind schedule, in which the international hospital (left, blue) has basically completed the rough construction items, while the VNPT building project at land plot No. 4 Ha Noi Street (Hue City) is still unfinished.
According to the plan, the inspection team of the Department of Planning and Investment of Thua Thien-Hue province will inspect within 30 days and require the enterprise to sign a progress commitment. After that, the inspection team will report the results to the People's Committee of Thua Thien-Hue province for further handling.
