Tia-Thuy Nguyen said that after the storm, she went to Hanoi and went with her friends to survey. Witnessing the scene of green trees lying flat on the ground, her heart ached. When she arrived at Co Tan flower garden, the image of a 70-year-old rosewood tree being uprooted and cut down to be taken away made her stop. Immediately, Tia-Thuy Nguyen and her friends contacted the authorities to come up with a "revival" plan.
After trimming the entire trunk and roots, the female artist covered the trunk with thick, hand-shaped stainless steel plates. The joints were welded tightly, creating rough knots and grooves like the tree's bark before.

The tree branches are simulated with natural, winding lines. The foliage is made of thousands of shiny steel leaves, dotted with colorful sparkling quartz “flowers”. More than 6 tons of steel are used to wrap the tree trunk, branches and leaves with the intention of “catching the sunlight”. When the sunlight appears, they will create a sparkling effect.

Hanoi has four seasons, no day has the same sunlight, no ray of sunlight repeats, making the work colorful and multifaceted. This is like the multifaceted life, the multidimensional universe. That is also the message that Tia-Thuy Nguyen sends in the work.

Many locals and tourists present at the inauguration ceremony were surprised when the acacia tree was reborn. Domestic and international tourists also took the time to check-in, enjoying the beauty of nature in harmony with the artistic creativity of humans.

What does Tia-Thuy Nguyen say about artwork made from acacia trees?
At the inauguration ceremony, Tia-Thuy Nguyen expressed her gratitude to her friends and silent collaborators. She added: "I would like to express my deepest gratitude to my father, who, although he has passed away, has always taught me to understand more about loss and pain, so that today I can have a 'resurrected' work. Thank you to my mother, who goes to the flower garden every day even more diligently than her daughter, just to watch the workers at work."
"I cannot help but mention my gratitude to Mother Nature. During the time of making the work, she did not create any obstacles. And now nature will continue to write the revival, bestowing brilliant rays of sunlight on the work, making it more vivid and attractive. The historical stories of the land, with memories and legends, have breathed life into the work, making it more vivid and meaningful," Tia-Thuy Nguyen shared more.
Tia-Thuy Nguyen said the reception from everyone is not only her own success, but also the result of a close-knit community, working together to create good things.

According to Tia-Thuy Nguyen, the work not only tells the story of a mahogany tree, but also the story of Hanoi, of the people who lived, died, or tried to stand up after the storm like the people there. It arouses curiosity about the origin, shape, and meaning of a work of art, and opens up countless approaches for each person to find their own answers.
