The objective of the Agreement is to help the two sides cooperate closely in researching and developing solutions and products for the transport sector in Vietnam; promoting digital transformation, scientific research, innovation and improving training capacity for the University of Transport.
At the same time, the parties exchanged knowledge and experience in areas of strength to promote the activities of the two units.

Speaking at the signing ceremony, Associate Professor Dr. Nguyen Van Hung - Rector of the University of Transport emphasized that the Military Industry - Telecommunications Group (Viettel) is the leading enterprise in Vietnam in the field of telecommunications, currently present in 11 countries and territories, providing digital services to more than 270 million people worldwide in three continents including Asia, Africa and America.
According to Associate Professor Dr. Nguyen Van Hung, our country is entering an era of strong growth, with the aspiration to build a strong and prosperous Vietnam. Strategic technology fields such as modern transport infrastructure, semiconductor technology, artificial intelligence, and cyber security are identified as pillars of national development.
Implementing major Resolutions of the Central Committee, the National Assembly and the Government, such as Conclusion 49 of the Politburo on the orientation for the development of Vietnam's railway transport to 2030, with a vision to 2045; Resolution No. 57 of the Politburo on breakthroughs in science, technology, innovation and national digital transformation; Decision No. 1018 of the Prime Minister promulgating the Strategy for the development of Vietnam's semiconductor industry to 2030 and a vision to 2050, requires the synergy, creativity and determination of Vietnam's educational, research and business institutions.
The University of Transport with 80 years of tradition is one of the five universities oriented by the Government to develop into a key university education institution in engineering and technology and is the only school selected in the field of transport.
The University of Transport is also one of 18 public higher education institutions prioritized by the Government to consider investing in a basic semiconductor laboratory to serve the training of human resources in the semiconductor industry.
In 2025, the school was ranked 481 - 490 in the QS - UK Asian University Rankings. These are clear evidences of the position of the University of Transport in Vietnam and in the region.
"A great source of pride for the University of Transport is the contributions to the country's industry of more than 700 alumni working at Viettel Group. We are even more proud when many alumni are holding senior leadership positions," Associate Professor, Dr. Nguyen Van Hung expressed.
University of Transport and Military Industry and Telecommunications Group (Viettel) signed a cooperation agreement on a strategic cooperation program.
He affirmed that with the connection of alumni, through the signed strategic cooperation agreement, the University of Transport and Viettel Group committed to accompany each other in researching, developing and applying advanced transportation technology such as intelligent transportation systems, urban railways, high-speed railways; building a smart university education ecosystem, towards comprehensive digital transformation.
In addition, we will accompany in training and fostering high-quality human resources in the fields of cybersecurity, AI, Big Data, semiconductor industry; transfer and commercialize scientific and technological products, contributing to promoting the country's socio-economic development.
This is a strategic partnership, a long-term commitment to accompany in the journey to conquer the peaks of science and technology.
To concretize the cooperation content, Associate Professor, Dr. Nguyen Van Hung requested that departments, faculties, and centers of the University of Transport urgently coordinate with departments of Viettel Group to establish specific plans for cooperation in training and research.
From there, promote the strengths of each side, act strongly and creatively, turn today's commitments into practical achievements, contributing to the sustainable development of the country.
