Former chairman of farmers association defrauded and appropriated more than 1 billion VND

On February 15, the Investigation Police Agency of Quang Ngai Province announced that it had issued a decision to prosecute and temporarily detain Huynh Van Quyet, former Chairman of the Farmers' Association of Son Tinh District (Quang Ngai Province), to investigate the act of fraud and property appropriation.

Accordingly, in 2023, Huynh Van Quyet took advantage of his position as a civil servant to provide many untrue information such as selling land, changing land use purposes, receiving red books from others to change land use purposes... but then mortgaged them to borrow money or appropriate other people's money.

With this trick, defendant Quyet defrauded and appropriated more than 1 billion VND from many people and then fled the area.

Upon receiving the denunciation, during the Lunar New Year 2024, the Investigation Police Agency of Quang Ngai Province Police went to Ho Chi Minh City to arrest and extradite the suspect Huynh Van Quyet to Quang Ngai to serve the investigation.

The Investigation Police Agency of Quang Ngai Province informs anyone who has been defrauded of property by Huynh Van Quyet to contact the Office of the Investigation Police Agency of Quang Ngai Province to report and resolve.
