Mr. Nguyen Van Thuc - Chairman of the Commune Veterans Association said: The Association currently has 451 members, operating in 14 branches. In order to make learning and following Uncle Ho a routine, the Association has organized specialized study sessions every year, thoroughly grasping the contents of Ho Chi Minh's ideology, morality and style, concretizing and building ethical standards following Uncle Ho's example in a concise, easy-to-remember, easy-to-understand manner, suitable to the characteristics and tasks of each branch. At the same time, directing members to register to follow Uncle Ho with specific actions, focusing on closely following the Campaign "All people unite to build new rural areas, civilized urban areas" in the locality, the Emulation Movement "War Veterans help each other develop the economy"...
One of the practical activities associated with learning and following Uncle Ho that the Association of War Veterans has carried out is to build a model of skillful mass mobilization branches in 100% of the branches. Each branch that establishes the model will attach a specific task to the implementation of skillful mass mobilization.
Typically, the Tam Van Association effectively implemented the model of skillful mass mobilization associated with new rural construction through specific activities and actions such as propaganda, mobilizing members and war veterans to participate in donating land, supporting funds, labor days to build, repair, purchase equipment for cultural houses, expand roads, mobilize environmental sanitation, and instruct people to collect and classify waste at households before transferring it to centralized treatment sites.
Since the beginning of the year, the Association has mobilized members and war veterans to donate over 500 square meters of land and constructions on land to upgrade and expand traffic routes in the area, organize sanitation campaigns, clean up village roads and alleys, attracting dozens of members and people to participate. The specific work of the Tam Van War Veterans Association has actively contributed to the process of building new rural areas in the locality.
Implementing the Movement "CVDs help each other develop the economy", the Commune CVD Association promotes activities to help members participate in economic development, increase income through capital sources entrusted from the Social Policy Bank (SPB) of the province and district. The Association manages loans from the SPB with a total outstanding debt of over 7 billion VND, 5 savings and loan groups, of which over 100 members borrow to develop the economy and expand production.
Thereby, attracting a large number of members to participate in economic development in many different fields, bringing high efficiency, contributing to increasing income, actively contributing to the socio-economic development in the locality. Typical examples are veteran member Ta Duc Chinh with the deer farming model, earning 200 million VND per year; veteran member Ha Thanh Lam with the tea growing model, earning over 300 million VND per year, creating jobs for 10 local workers.
With many specific actions in studying and following Uncle Ho, every year over 90% of members study and follow Uncle Ho through specific actions, 98% of members achieve the title of "Exemplary War Veteran", 98% of members' families achieve the title of cultural family. In order for each cadre and war veteran member to continue to promote studying and following Uncle Ho, the Van Mieu Commune War Veterans Association promotes emulation movements, supports and helps members develop the economy, builds a strong Association, contributes to building the homeland to be more and more developed, rich, beautiful and civilized.
