After the competitive preliminary and semi-final rounds, on July 17, the final round of the “Saigon - My Beloved City” contest took place in Ho Chi Minh City. The 7 teams that made it to the final round brought about outstanding and exciting “performances”, adding motivation to many other students studying tourism.

According to the organizers, the contest is not only a playground for young people to contribute to the efforts to develop tourism products and contribute to the overall development of Ho Chi Minh City, but also contributes many attractive ideas to the country's tourism industry.

In the end, the organizing committee selected 7/29 teams to enter the final round. Before entering the final round, the teams were given the opportunity to experience famous tourist destinations in Saigon. A day of "traveling" around the most impressive destinations in the city named after Uncle Ho helped the contestants accumulate more knowledge - suggesting ideas for building tourism products, to enter the final round.

The final round of the competition is also an experiential journey. First, the teams must go through an online competition to receive votes on the fanpage “Saigon - My Beloved City”. The online competition consists of creative video clip products introducing each team’s tourism products. In the publication design competition, many teams have known how to apply digital solutions to bring tourism products to a large number of potential tourists.

The most dramatic round is the final round - the teams directly present their new tourism products on stage, in front of the Board of Judges. The criteria of the round are highly specialized such as: building a tour, designing digital publications to advertise the tour and an impressive presentation of the product within a maximum of 10 minutes, in addition to the Q&A session to promote the creative thinking of specialized students.

The third prize was awarded to the team “Ca Phe Bet” (Ton Duc Thang University) with the product “Goc Phe Tran Nhien Trung Trung Cho Lon”, with the theme “Good life, good religion”.

Evaluating the competition, Mr. Tran Van Nam - a member of the organizing committee - said: "The Board of Directors of 14 colleges and universities actively supported and guided students to participate in the main competition rounds, creating useful playgrounds and motivating students to develop in the field of tourism and travel service management. The practical experiences from the competition will be good luggage for students to be ready to enter the competitive labor market."

The contest “Saigon - The City I Love” is organized by the Department of Tourism - Restaurant - Hotel, FPT Polytechnic College, Ho Chi Minh City. This is the first year the school enrolls students in the Tourism and Travel Services Management major.
