This event is part of a series of activities to celebrate the 60th anniversary of the establishment of the Cuban Committee for Solidarity with South Vietnam (1963-2023) and the 50th anniversary of Cuban leader Fidel Castro's first visit to Vietnam and the liberated zone of South Vietnam (September 1973-September 2023).

Special friendship between two peoples

Associate Professor, Dr. Vu Trong Lam, Director - Editor-in-Chief of the National Political Publishing House, affirmed that the organization of the translation and publication of the book "Cuba-Vietnam: Two peoples, one history" from the original Spanish into Vietnamese aims to strengthen the traditional friendship between the two Parties and two countries, while also serving foreign information work.

According to Mr. Vu Trong Lam, the book can be considered a chronicle of events, systematically presenting important events in the relationship between the two countries, from visits and exchanges of high-level delegations and delegations at all levels to bilateral cooperation in many fields.

With a rich system of photo documents, the book has shown the close, steadfast brotherly friendship between the two nations, despite being geographically half a world apart, both during war and peace.

Cuban Ambassador to Vietnam Orlando Nicolás Guilén also affirmed that the book recorded the most important events in the Cuba-Vietnam relationship.

Mr. Orlando Nicolás Guilén highly appreciated the sense of responsibility of Dr. Ruvislei González Saez, who spent a lot of time and effort researching the Vietnam-Cuba relationship, to pass on the spirit of that good relationship to the young generation of the two countries.

In particular, although at the time of the establishment of the Cuban Committee for Solidarity with South Vietnam and the time when Leader Fidel Castro visited Vietnam, Dr. Ruvislei González Saez had not yet been born, the book was written with the author's passion, respect and special affection for the good relationship between the two countries.

Spiritual gift of the people of the two countries

Over the years, the Truth National Political Publishing House has always closely coordinated with relevant departments, ministries and branches such as the Central External Relations Commission, the Central Propaganda Commission, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs... in publishing books to propagate the guidelines, policies and foreign policies of the Party and State of Vietnam to international friends.

The book Cuba - Vietnam: Two Peoples, One History by Dr. Ruvislei González Saez is the continuation of the results of this close and effective coordination.

According to Associate Professor, Dr. Vu Trong Lam, the book is considered a spiritual gift for the Cuban brothers, as well as generations of Vietnamese people who have made many contributions to creating, maintaining and developing this special bilateral relationship of solidarity and friendship.

The publication of the book, along with other publications on the Vietnam-Cuba friendship, will contribute to consolidating, continuing to nurture and develop the traditional close friendship that has been cherished and painstakingly built by generations of leaders of the Party, State and people of the two countries.

This opens up prospects for increasingly close and deep cooperation in publishing, book distribution and cultural exchange activities between the two countries in general and between the Truth National Political Publishing House and organizations and agencies of Cuba and Latin American countries in particular.
