Speaking at the ceremony, Ms. Do Ngoc Thuy, Chairwoman of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Trade Union, expressed that after the Yagi storm in 2024, Lao Cai province, the land on the northern border of the Fatherland, was one of the localities heavily affected.
In response to the call of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs launched a fundraising campaign to support people in disaster-hit areas. With the spirit of mutual love and responsibility to the community, the program received positive responses from domestic officials and civil servants as well as diplomatic staff working at Vietnamese representative agencies abroad.

Ms. Do Ngoc Thuy emphasized that in recent years, with the attention and direction of the Ministry's leaders, the Standing Committee and the Party Committee of the Ministry, the support of the superior Trade Union and the response of a large number of union members, the Ministry's Trade Union has had many activities to support the construction of boarding schools in remote areas.
It can be said that these are projects of practical significance, contributing to improving learning and living conditions for students, especially investing in libraries, computer rooms and many other facilities.
The Chairman of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Trade Union expressed his belief that this meaningful gift will help the school improve its facilities and create better learning conditions for students in the future.
At the same time, we would like to thank the Provincial Federation of Labor and all levels of trade unions for accompanying the community support programs of the Ministry's Trade Union, contributing to the close working relationship between the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Lao Cai in recent times.

On behalf of the staff and teachers at all levels of Ngai Thau commune, Mr. Dang Dinh Chung respectfully acknowledged the precious sentiments that the delegation had given to the locality. According to Mr. Chung, in recent years, Lao Cai has achieved many significant developments in many fields.
However, with its special geographical position - acting as a "fence" at the headland of the Fatherland - the province still bears the important responsibility of protecting forests, water resources and border security. In particular, the entire water system flowing from the headwaters of Lao Cai province flows downstream through the Red River - an important source of life not only for the locality but also for many northern provinces.
Recalling the 2024 storm Yagi, Mr. Chung commented that this was one of the most serious natural disasters that Lao Cai had to endure since the historic flood in 1971. Rising river water caused many areas, including Lao Cai city and surrounding areas, to be severely flooded. This had not happened in decades. In particular, A Lu commune (Bat Xat district), where the Red River flows through, was completely isolated during the time of the natural disaster.
However, thanks to timely support and solidarity from officials, civil servants, businesses and people nationwide, Lao Cai has now basically overcome the consequences caused by the storm's circulation.
The Chairman of the Provincial Labor Federation emphasized that the meaningful companionship of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Trade Union not only helps the locality overcome difficulties, but is also a great source of encouragement for Lao Cai to continue to move forward and successfully complete assigned political, economic and social tasks.

Mr. Vu Ngoc Thu, Vice Principal of Ngai Thau Boarding, Primary and Secondary School for Ethnic Minorities, affirmed that the sharing of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs not only provides material support but also is a great source of encouragement to help the school overcome difficulties and continue to maintain teaching and learning. In an interview with a reporter from The World and Vietnam Newspaper, Mr. Vu Ngoc Thu, Vice Principal of Ngai Thau Boarding School for Ethnic Minorities, Primary and Secondary School, said that after storm No. 3, the school had to face many difficulties and damages to both facilities and learning conditions for students.
"The students' travel is hindered because many roads leading to the school have been eroded and severely damaged. More seriously, the dining hall for 230 boarding students has been completely eroded. Although some items have been and are being repaired by support units, there are still many immediate difficulties that need to be overcome," Mr. Thu pointed out.
Assessing the significance of this donation event, Mr. Vu Ngoc Thu affirmed that this is a timely and practical encouragement for the school, especially in the context of overcoming the consequences of natural disasters that are still unfinished.
“The sharing from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs not only provides material support but is also a great source of encouragement to help us overcome difficulties and continue teaching and learning,” the teacher emotionally shared.
Representing the school’s Board of Directors, Mr. Thu pledged to effectively use this support to continue to overcome the damage after the storm, while upgrading the library, creating a spacious reading space for students; contributing to nurturing the habit of studying and exploring knowledge for children in the mountainous areas with many shortages.
From April 8-10, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Trade Union organized a training conference to orient the Ministry's trade union work in 2025, improve skills in organizing collective activities, and continuously learn in the spirit of "lifelong learning" for civil servants, public employees, and workers. The program took place in an exciting atmosphere, competing to achieve achievements to celebrate the 80th anniversary of the establishment of the Diplomatic sector (August 28, 1945 - August 28, 2025) and the 75th anniversary of the establishment of the Ministry's Trade Union (October 1, 1950 - October 1, 2025). |
