Today, January 16, the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development held a conference to evaluate and classify Central OCOP products in 2024 in Hanoi.
At the conference, the Central Office for New Rural Area Coordination reported a summary of the results of the review of documents requesting evaluation and classification of 52 national OCOP products in 2024.
According to Mr. Ngo Truong Son, Chief of the Central Office for New Rural Area Coordination, the OCOP program has so far contributed to creating gender equality in the economy and production, helping rural women have stable livelihoods, while also strongly transforming the agricultural, farmer and rural economy, including rural tourism, and local cultural identity is also improving.
The members of the Council have evaluated and commented objectively and fairly on each product of the manufacturing facility in terms of the level of completion of the documents and products. At the same time, they gave opinions on the products, made suggestions to improve the quality and development orientation of OCOP products. The Council emphasized the need to improve the quality of packaging, increase aesthetics and expand distribution channels so that OCOP products can reach more and more consumers.
After discussion, exchange and voting, the Central OCOP Product Evaluation and Classification Council in 2024 decided to recognize 28 products as achieving National OCOP certification.

Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development Tran Thanh Nam highly appreciated the continuous efforts of enterprises participating in and developing OCOP products. Especially during Tet, many enterprises have developed OCOP products as Tet gifts, which are trusted and loved by many customers. On an international scale, Vietnam's OCOP products have made significant progress, receiving high appreciation from consumers as well as agencies and departments.
Deputy Minister Tran Thanh Nam affirmed: "OCOP products are specialties of each region. These products not only increase the value of agricultural products but also contribute to the overall development of production localities. OCOP products have begun to reach out to the international market, with many production facilities proactively registering and adjusting products to meet international standards. At the same time, the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development is promoting trade promotion activities, bringing OCOP products to participate in international agricultural fairs. In addition, the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development plans to select a number of 5-star OCOP products to bring into the supermarket system in the US".
Deputy Minister Tran Thanh Nam requested businesses and production facilities to continue to make efforts to improve the quality and design of OCOP products. Focus on tracing the origin of products, ensuring transparency and prestige for consumers. At the same time, prioritize the use of safe, environmentally friendly materials to create sustainable export opportunities, enhancing the value of OCOP products in the international market.
