Vietnam Post Corporation Trade Union held the 3rd Executive Committee Conference, term IV, 2023-2028

On July 1, 2024, the Vietnam Post Corporation Trade Union held the 3rd Executive Committee Meeting, term IV, 2023-2028; Results of the union's activities in the first 6 months of the year and directions and tasks for the last 6 months of 2024. Attending and directing the Conference were comrade Tran Vu Ha, Vice President of the Vietnam Information and Communications Trade Union; comrade Nguyen Hung Son, Permanent Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee of Vietnam Post Corporation; comrade Nguyen Minh Duc, Deputy General Director of Vietnam Post Corporation. Attending the Conference were comrades Executive Committee members, members of the Inspection Committee of the Vietnam Post Corporation Trade Union.

Vice President of the Corporation's Trade Union Le Thi Ha reports on the results of work in the first 6 months of the year

Reporting on the results of the first 6 months of the year, comrade Le Thi Ha, Vice President of the General Trade Union of the Corporation, said that the production and business situation at Vietnam Post Corporation continued to face common difficulties of the economy; fierce competition between delivery service providers; changes in service structure, innovation in production organization model in key areas in Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City; the labor situation across the entire network continued to have many complicated developments. With the attention and direction of the Party Committee of the General Corporation, the Vietnam Information and Communications Trade Union; The sharing and coordination of professional levels, the solidarity of the entire Trade Union organization system and the close and drastic direction of the Standing Committee of the General Corporation's Trade Union, the synchronous implementation of solutions by the Grassroots Trade Union (GCTU) have basically resolved the concerns of union members and workers, stabilizing the production and business situation at the units, especially the direct production sector. Right from the beginning of the year, the Trade Union Executive Committee has built a unified 2024 Work Program across the entire system, creating favorable conditions for the GTUs to concretize their activities, guiding the GTU activities with specific solutions, focusing on key points, clear responsibilities, flexibility and timeliness. In addition, coordinate with Party committees and professional levels at the same level to improve the quality of trade union activities, meet the requirements and aspirations of union members and workers, contribute to caring for and protecting the rights of union members and workers better and better, compete in production and business, complete work tasks, and contribute more to the development of the Corporation and the country. The Corporation's Trade Union has organized 01 Standing Committee meeting, 01 Executive Committee meeting to discuss and agree on many important contents and issues that need to be thoroughly implemented in all levels of the Union such as representing and protecting the legitimate and legal rights and interests of union members and workers, trade union finance, union member development, and establishment of grassroots trade unions. In particular, implementing the direction of the Vietnam Information and Communications Trade Union, the General Corporation's Trade Union has chaired and coordinated the program "Launching Ceremony of Workers' Month and Month of Action on Occupational Safety and Hygiene in 2024", successfully organizing the "Workers' Market" at the Kim Hoa mining floor to celebrate Workers' Month. The activities of Workers' Month and Month of Action on Occupational Safety and Hygiene have become the focal point in the annual movement of workers and civil servants and trade union activities, demonstrating the attention of Party committees and professionals to join hands to care for, protect and promote the role of union members and workers.

Deputy General Director Nguyen Minh Duc requested that all levels of the Trade Union closely coordinate with the experts to synchronously and effectively deploy the tasks for the last 6 months of the year.

Speaking at the Conference, Deputy General Director Nguyen Minh Duc, Member of the Executive Committee of the Corporation's Trade Union, requested that the Trade Unions at all levels closely coordinate with the professional units to synchronously and effectively deploy key, breakthrough tasks and groups of solutions to implement key political tasks according to Resolution 512-NQ/DU, dated December 22, 2023 of the Corporation's Party Committee; Special Resolution No. 252-NQ/DU to effectively support production and business activities. Accordingly, 03 breakthrough programs; 04 business pillars will be implemented. Specifically, 03 strategic projects; 17 key projects and tasks will be divided to direct and implement the production and business plan and strategic and key tasks of the Corporation in 2024. At the same time, Trade Unions at all levels need to enhance their role in accompanying and taking care of the regimes and policies for employees, conveying positive messages to encourage employees to stabilize and feel secure in working with Vietnam Post.

Speaking at the Conference, Comrade Tran Vu Ha, Vice President of the Vietnam Information and Communications Trade Union, was very pleased with the consistent and effective direction of the Party Committee of the Corporation, the companionship between the expertise and the Trade Union of the Corporation in overcoming difficulties in production and business. He especially appreciated the quick and methodical adaptation and response as well as the joint efforts, consensus and high determination of the entire leadership force of the Corporation, officers and employees, and information technology team to overcome and bring the information technology system of Vietnam Post back to normal operation after the data encryption attack (ransomware) incident on June 4, 2024. Thereby, limiting the interruption in service provision, ensuring postal information security tasks and production and business activities, maintaining stability, the public postal network serving Party and Government agencies and essential needs of the people. The Industry Union always agrees to provide maximum support for the Corporation's Union to carry out cultural and sports activities well, helping employees have the opportunity to participate in exchange activities and share experiences in union activities with Union units under the Vietnam Information and Communications Union, to unite and develop the units in the Industry.

In his concluding remarks at the Conference, Chairman of the Corporation's Trade Union Tran Duc Thich accepted the direction of the leaders of the Industry Trade Union and the Corporation's leaders, turning the direction into concrete actions. In the context of a very difficult market, the Trade Union will proactively coordinate with the profession to drastically innovate, proactively find new directions based on the application of science and technology, digital transformation to quickly seize opportunities, quickly adapt to the market, and ensure business efficiency. The Chairman of the General Corporation's Trade Union requested the members of the Executive Committee who are Heads of the Trade Union Clusters to seriously and effectively implement the instructions of the superior Trade Union, the key tasks for the last 6 months of the year, and immediately implement the Joint Directive to launch and implement the emulation programs for the last 6 months of the year to promote business development, improve the quality of the plan to exceed the targets set by the General Corporation in 2024. Strengthen communication work, mobilize and encourage a large number of workers to respond and actively participate, and build advanced models according to each emulation movement. The Executive Committee of the Vietnam Post Corporation's Trade Union also called on all trade union members and workers of the whole Corporation to promote the glorious revolutionary tradition of the working class and the Vietnam Trade Union organization with the spirit of "Innovation, democracy, solidarity, development", the 10 golden words tradition of "Loyalty - Courage - Dedication - Creativity - Affection" of the Postal workers; In particular, the head of the unit or organization must be exemplary, take the lead and promote the combined strength and solidarity of the entire unit, improve capacity, proactively adapt quickly, and respond effectively to all situations that arise. At the same time, each union member and employee must uphold the spirit of self-reliance and self-strengthening to overcome all difficulties and challenges, successfully complete assigned tasks, and contribute to completing the Corporation's 2024 plan targets.
