Announcing the 2023 Community Action Awards

The Human Act Prize is an annual national award to honor and promote community projects, and to recognize organizations, businesses, and individuals who are making efforts to contribute to society. The award is organized by Nhan Dan Newspaper, with the participation of the Ministry of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs, the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment, the Ministry of Science and Technology, and the coordination of VCCorp Joint Stock Company.

Attending the announcement ceremony were comrades: Le Quoc Minh, member of the Party Central Committee, Editor-in-Chief of Nhan Dan Newspaper, Deputy Head of the Central Propaganda Department, President of the Vietnam Journalists Association; To Duc, Director of the Department of Social Protection (Ministry of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs); Trinh Xuan Quang, Deputy Chief of Office of the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment.

Speaking at the announcement ceremony, comrade Le Quoc Minh, Head of the Organizing Committee of the award, affirmed that the world is experiencing the combined impacts of unprecedented levels and scales of pandemics, climate change and depletion of natural resources, and declining economic growth on a global scale. However, the difficulties and challenges also help us see more clearly the importance of protecting the living environment, harmoniously resolving the urgent need for economic recovery with the requirements of green development and sustainable development towards a better future.

" In order to honor and promote community projects, and to properly recognize organizations, businesses, and individuals who are making efforts to contribute to society, today, August 22, 2023, Nhan Dan Newspaper officially announced the annual Human Act Prize. The award is organized by Nhan Dan Newspaper, with the participation of the Ministry of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs, the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment, the Ministry of Science and Technology, and the coordination of VCCorp Joint Stock Company ", said Comrade Le Quoc Minh.

The Jury and Preliminary Committee of the Award includes the Editor-in-Chief of Nhan Dan Newspaper, Head of the Jury; representatives from 3 Ministries (Representative of the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment, Representative of the Ministry of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs, Representative of the Ministry of Science and Technology); representatives from large domestic and international organizations with prestige and expertise in community activities and sustainable development; people who have made great contributions to the community, have influence and are recognized by the community.

The Human Act Prize sets out four main tasks, including: Honoring, spreading, orienting and connecting. Specifically:

First , honor organizations/businesses that have been making efforts for community development.

Second , spread and inspire the society to follow by explaining the projects, including the ideas, methods of operation, positive impacts on society, as well as promoting them in the media.

Third , orientation: building humane stories, affirming the positive, scientific and methodical nature of CSR activities/community projects. Directing the community to meaningful activities and raising awareness of CSR activities and Sustainable Development.

Fourth , connection: Build platforms to connect projects/organizations with resources with projects/individuals lacking resources. Through communication activities and events, bring resources from those who have to those who need them.

Participants are organizations, agencies, and unions from central to local levels that are interested in community activities and have creative ideas for community activities; Corporations, General Companies, State-owned Enterprises; Private Enterprises; Limited Liability Companies; Joint Stock Companies; Partnerships.

In addition, domestic and foreign organizations with representative offices operating in Vietnam that are interested in community activities and have creative ideas for community activities can also participate in the contest.

The Awards will include various categories. Accordingly, the Project Categories include: Inspirational Projects, Enduring Projects, Promising Projects, Timely Projects and Sustainable Projects.

Product/service categories include: Inspirational products/services, Sustainable products/services, Environmental products/services, People-oriented products/services.

In addition, the Organizing Committee will also award prizes for Community Ideas and Sustainable Development Ideas.

In particular, the Annual Award will be a landmark category honoring actions that bring positive and sustainable contributions to the community, regardless of whether it is a project, product or service.

Projects participating in the award will be evaluated based on 5 criteria representing the values that the Human Act Prize is promoting, including commitment, sustainability, creativity, impact, and outreach.
