A representative of Ba Vang Pagoda said that due to being busy with some important Buddhist activities during the rainy season retreat, the pagoda announced the temporary postponement of the summer retreats that parents and students have registered for, until further notice.
The pagoda said that while there is no official announcement, parents and students can participate in regular retreats at Ba Vang Pagoda and summer retreats at other pagodas and monasteries belonging to the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha.
Regarding the video of a person being "possessed" that is said to have occurred at a summer retreat at Ba Vang Pagoda that has been causing a stir in public opinion in recent days, Venerable Thich Truc Thai Minh, abbot of Ba Vang Pagoda, has sent a report to the Executive Committee of the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha in Uong Bi City and the People's Committee of Uong Bi City, Quang Ninh Province.
Accordingly, the first summer retreat in 2024 will be held by the pagoda from June 13 to June 19 with a total of more than 6,000 students.
Regarding the content of the 2024 summer retreat program, Ba Vang Pagoda said that it strictly follows the circular of the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha, the instructions of the Executive Committee of the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha in Quang Ninh province, and the comments of experts.
Accordingly, the content of the retreat needs to ensure the experience of studying Buddhism, life skills and supplementary recreational activities.
Every day, students are trained to live an independent life. In addition, they explore and learn about the history of Buddhism, learn about Ba Vang Pagoda; listen to the abbot share about the Buddha's teachings so that they can live responsibly and ethically...
