Expressing his joy when visiting and wishing the State Audit Office a happy new year on the first working day of the new year of Giap Thin, National Assembly Chairman Vuong Dinh Hue emphasized that this year the State Audit Office has a very special event, which is the 30th anniversary of the establishment of the State Audit Office (July 11, 1994 - July 11, 2024).
According to the National Assembly Chairman, in the 30 years of establishment and operation of the State Audit, he himself has been associated with the industry for 10 years as Deputy General and then State Auditor General with many unforgettable memories. "This can be considered a fateful relationship," the National Assembly Chairman expressed.
The National Assembly Chairman acknowledged that in 2023, the State Audit Office made many efforts, achieved important results, and well organized and implemented the functions and tasks assigned according to the Constitution and provisions of law, especially in auditing financial statements, performance audits, and thematic audits.
According to the National Assembly Chairman, the State Audit has closely followed and effectively served the implementation of the functions and tasks of the National Assembly, both in terms of legislation, supreme supervision and decision-making on important national issues, especially in supervision work.
"Without the State Audit, very important thematic supervisions in the past year such as supervision on thrift practice, anti-waste, arrangement of administrative units at district and commune levels and topics related to public finance... would hardly have had good results," the National Assembly Chairman affirmed.
According to the National Assembly Chairman, in the supervision work, the State Audit is both the subject of supervision and the agency coordinating with the National Assembly for supervision. Notably, a new point in this term is that the National Assembly Standing Committee has invited the Deputy State Auditors General and representatives of the State Audit leadership to be members of the supervision delegations.
Since the beginning of the 13th tenure, the National Assembly has also decided on a series of important national projects. According to the State Audit Law and the Public Investment Law, the State Audit has issued an audit report with very authentic and specific opinions.
Strengthening and publicizing transparency of audit results
In the coming time, the National Assembly Chairman requested the State Audit to continue its efforts to build a prestigious and responsible State Audit agency, thereby implementing accountability seriously and fully.

The National Assembly Chairman suggested that the State Audit should increase publicity and transparency, especially in audit results and implementation of audit recommendations. In addition, state auditors must constantly practice professional ethics, "firmly grasp the law and be proficient in their profession", promote "fairness, integrity, and impartiality", "carefulness and professional diligence beyond the necessary level to avoid occupational risks"...
The National Assembly Chairman also requested the State Audit to soon complete job titles according to job positions to clearly define salary payment and benefits for State Audit officials, civil servants, and employees... The National Assembly Chairman affirmed that the National Assembly, the National Assembly Standing Committee, and the National Assembly Party Delegation will create the best conditions for the State Audit so that the sector can best fulfill its assigned functions and tasks.
Expressing gratitude for the attention and direction of the National Assembly Chairman, State Auditor General Ngo Van Tuan affirmed that the State Audit will seriously absorb the direction of the National Assembly Chairman and consider this as a guideline for the industry's activities.
The State Audit will urgently complete programs and plans, strive to successfully complete the political tasks of the sector in 2024 and the following years, and achieve outstanding achievements to celebrate the 30th anniversary of the establishment of the State Audit .
