On the morning of July 29, the plane carrying President Vo Van Thuong and his wife arrived at Noi Bai Airport (Hanoi), successfully concluding a 6-day visit to Austria, Italy and the Vatican.
At around 9:55 a.m. on July 29, after a 10-hour flight from Italy, VN1 landed at Noi Bai airport, marking the successful end of the visit to Austria, Italy and the Vatican by President Vo Van Thuong and his wife.

President Vo Van Thuong's official visit to Austria, state visit to Italy and visit to the Vatican took place from July 23 to 28 at the invitation of Austrian President Alexander Van der Bellen, Italian President Sergio Mattarella and Pope Francis, respectively.
Responding to the press, Minister of Foreign Affairs Bui Thanh Son affirmed that the President's visit had achieved very good results.
The visit also created an important driving force to promote the cooperative relationship between Vietnam and Austria, Italy and the Vatican to become increasingly deep, effective, stable and sustainable.
During the working trip, President Vo Van Thuong and his delegation conducted about 50 activities. Austria, Italy and the Vatican gave President Vo Van Thuong a warm, respectful and thoughtful welcome.
Local and international political opinion and press closely followed, reflected vividly and commented positively on the activities of the President.

Promoting Vietnam's relations with Austria, Italy and the Vatican
According to Minister Bui Thanh Son, the leaders of Austria and Italy both affirmed that they consider Vietnam a leading important partner in ASEAN and hope that Vietnam will act as a bridge to promote EU-ASEAN relations.
"With Austria, we show our determination to continuously foster and further develop the traditional friendship and multifaceted cooperation in general and the high trust between the two countries' senior leaders in particular, in line with the tradition of 50 years of diplomatic relations," said Mr. Son.
The two sides reached high consensus on measures to continue effectively implementing bilateral agreements, especially in the fields of innovation, energy transition, and culture.
Vietnam and Austria also agreed to coordinate to effectively implement the Vietnam - EU Free Trade Agreement (EVFTA), Austria to soon ratify the Vietnam - EU Investment Protection Agreement (EVIPA) and urge the EU to soon remove the IUU yellow card for Vietnamese seafood exported to Europe.
With Italy, the two sides issued a Joint Statement on strengthening the Vietnam-Italy Strategic Partnership. The two sides also agreed to coordinate at regional and international forums, addressing global issues such as climate change, energy security, and food.
Notably, the Italian Parliament approved EVIPA right at the time of President Vo Van Thuong's visit.
According to Mr. Son, this will create conditions for the two sides to strengthen cooperation in potential areas such as digital economy, high technology, green development, smart agriculture...
President Vo Van Thuong and his wife and the high-ranking Vietnamese delegation took a photo with Pope Francis during a meeting on July 27 at the Vatican.
Visiting the Vatican, President Vo Van Thuong met with Pope Francis and the Vatican Secretary of State, Cardinal Pietro Parolin.
According to Mr. Son, the highlight is that the two sides announced the adoption of the "Regulations on the operation of the Permanent Representative and the Office of the Permanent Representative of the Holy See in Vietnam".
This is a step forward in the Vietnam - Holy See relationship, and is also the result of active exchanges in the spirit of respect, cooperation and mutual understanding.
Pope Francis and Prime Minister Pietro Parolin expressed their impression of the positive, diverse and rich development of religious life and beliefs in Vietnam, including Catholicism.
The Vatican leaders also agreed that the Catholic Church in Vietnam needs to continue to better implement the guidelines of "accompanying the nation" and "good parishioners are good citizens", and that Catholic parishioners and dignitaries in Vietnam need to continue to actively contribute to the development of the country and the Church.
President Vo Van Thuong also met with representatives of the Vietnamese community in Austria, Italy and Europe.
In particular, he encouraged the community to promote solidarity, preserve cultural identity, and actively integrate to contribute to affirming the position of the local community, becoming a bridge of friendship between Vietnam and other countries.
