Sharing with businesses, Mr. Nguyen Tan Tuan - Chairman of Khanh Hoa Provincial People's Committee - said that the province is currently in the process of implementing a program to build Khanh Hoa into a centrally-governed city with the criteria of a green city, so it is also necessary to build a green economy.
The Chairman of Khanh Hoa Provincial People's Committee requested that when evaluating investment applications, departments and branches must ensure that these projects are truly green, save a lot of resources to serve the project, and ensure a sustainable environment.
Mr. Tuan believes that a green economy must always move towards net zero emissions, including in the fields of real estate investment, agricultural production, and processing.
"In addition, we want businesses to make the most of the output of this manufacturing industry as the input for the new manufacturing industry, or in other words, use - reuse - recycle," said Mr. Tuan.
What opportunities are there for domestic enterprises in the current trend of attracting FDI?
At the conference, the issue that businesses were concerned about was whether there were any opportunities for domestic businesses when Vietnam was in the trend of attracting foreign direct investment (FDI).
Regarding this issue, Mr. Chau Ngo Anh Nhan - Director of Khanh Hoa Department of Planning and Investment - said that the province is attracting FDI into industrial zones and industrial clusters in the fields of processing and manufacturing.
According to Mr. Nhan, attracting foreign direct investment is an opportunity to have large-scale projects or small projects with scientific and technological elements.
"Attracting FDI is an opportunity for us to access new fields, not reducing opportunities for businesses in the province but bringing innovation opportunities for these businesses.
That can only be done if businesses grasp the FDI attraction trends of Khanh Hoa in particular and Vietnam in general in the current context," said Mr. Nhan.
Mr. Nhan said that businesses must have certain preparations to be able to participate in the value chain of FDI enterprises.
Mr. Nguyen Le Van - CEO of Pomgroup Company - said that attracting FDI into Vietnam will support domestic enterprises to have more opportunities to compete with foreign corporations to join forces to develop the country's economy.
"In particular, the professionalism of FDI enterprises forces Vietnamese enterprises to follow, research, and learn to follow their correct procedures, thereby promoting mutual development," said Mr. Van.
