Delegate Nguyen Truc Son highly appreciated and agreed with the Electricity Law (amended). He affirmed that the policy is clear and early implementation will ensure electricity security.
Sharing on the sidelines of the National Assembly on the morning of November 4, delegate Nguyen Truc Son - Head of the National Assembly Delegation of Ben Tre province said: From the reality of Ben Tre being a locality that strongly develops renewable energy, we also encounter certain difficulties in the process of project implementation, so I strongly support the Electricity Law (amended) passed at this Session.
According to the delegate, the revised Electricity Law this time has focused on the difficulties of the electricity industry, thereby unlocking social resources and investment sources from businesses.

“ For example, in the new energy sector, there are many projects that we have successfully attracted investors, but what are the policy mechanisms and procedures? We still have many difficulties. In amending the Electricity Law this time, I see that the policy mechanisms for the development of the new energy sector have closely followed the goals and commitments of the Vietnamese Government to move towards Net-Zero by 2050, thereby helping businesses access and convert energy in a green, sustainable direction, helping the economy grow green ” - delegate Nguyen Truc Son said.
Faced with the high demand for electricity in the economy, the delegate affirmed that the policy is very clear, electricity is one of the important issues that we must support for sustainable development, otherwise the future of electricity shortage for national development is real, new energy and renewable energy sectors will miss the target.
“ We discussed in groups, delegates agreed with the Electricity Law (amended) very highly, especially issues related to investment in new energy and renewable energy ” - delegate Nguyen Truc Son affirmed.
According to the delegate, Ben Tre currently has many projects in the Power Plan VIII on renewable energy. In the past, Ben Tre has implemented about more than 30% of the list of projects in the master plan, thereby promoting very high economic efficiency for the locality.

" When the projects come into operation, they will not only provide more electricity to the national grid but also generate additional revenue from power transmission. If businesses have revenue, the locality will have additional budget revenue, " said the delegate.
Besides electricity for industrial production, Ben Tre is also a locality with strengths in developing high-tech aquaculture with over 5,000 hectares of high-tech shrimp farming.
“ Therefore, ensuring enough electricity for economic development is not only important for our locality but also for other investors and other economic sectors. We must join forces to remove the bottlenecks in the electricity industry to mobilize investment resources for development, do not miss opportunities and lack electricity for the future ” - delegate Nguyen Truc Son emphasized.
Ben Tre province has great potential to develop renewable energy and new energy projects. Up to now, Ben Tre province has granted investment policies and focused on implementing 19 wind power projects with a total capacity of 1,007.7 MW; 9 projects have completed basic construction and installation work with a total installed capacity of 365.9 MW. Of which, 250.75 MW have been commercially generated, the remaining installed capacity is 115.15 MW, the investor is completing legal procedures to negotiate electricity prices with Vietnam Electricity Group. In addition, the People's Committee of Ben Tre province has also submitted to the Prime Minister a proposal for the implementation of the "Ben Tre Green Hydrogen Complex" project as a pilot project for the hydrogen production industry in Vietnam, along with self-produced and self-consumed solar and wind power projects to provide input energy for the "Ben Tre Green Hydrogen Complex". Therefore, the Electricity Law (amended) when passed will be an important legal basis for Ben Tre province to soon realize the goals granted investment policies. |
