When visiting the exhibition, the capital's public will enjoy 100 portraits, mainly of highland women from 6 northwestern provinces, whom Nguyen Thanh Tuan met during his trips to make films and produce art programs.

Thanh Tuan takes close-up portraits of women in the Northwest, helping viewers better understand the stories of each character.

They are women who silently research and collect thousands of precious assets of the Northwest into literary works and books; women who are deaf and mute but raise their children to be good people... Hundreds of such portraits haunt and impress Thanh Tuan, making him want to tell more about them.

Therefore, the audience will see the captions on each work told like a short story on Do paper. In particular, the Tay Park - Ngan exhibition brings a multi-sensory experience with the main art form - photography printed on traditional Do paper, arranged and decorated in combination with props and artifacts typical of the Northwest region.

During his journey across the country, Thanh Tuan discovered many types of do paper from ethnic minorities in the Northwest. Along Highway 6 to Dien Bien, he saw that the materials used to make do paper came from the bark of the Duong tree, giang tree, straw and climbing trees - only when the primeval forest remains can these species survive and continue to be preserved by the people using manual methods.

When printing photos on Do paper, the nostalgic features and light transmission of each work bring an interesting feeling to Thanh Tuan personally, thereby creating certain visual effects.

The photos printed on Do paper will be displayed at Area 75 Art & Event (Hoan Kiem District, Hanoi). The event officially opens at 5:30 p.m. on November 26.
