According to the latest figures, Europe now plays a key role in supporting Ukraine, providing up to 60% of military aid and nearly two-thirds of total aid resources to the war-torn country.
This move comes amid a significant adjustment in US foreign policy under President Donald Trump, shifting focus from Europe to the Indo-Pacific region.

Specifically, in a recent joint statement, the foreign ministers of the UK, Germany, France, Italy, Spain, Poland and EU senior representative Kaja Kallas emphasized: "Russian assets will continue to be frozen until Moscow ends the war and fully compensates for the damage Ukraine has suffered."
To date, more than $300 billion in Russian assets have been frozen by the West, mostly held at Euroclear - a financial institution based in Brussels, Belgium.
Along with the embargo, European countries have also announced important military aid packages for Ukraine. Sweden has just announced a $1.6 billion aid package, the largest ever, including air defense systems, artillery and satellite communications equipment.
Germany also pledged $3.2 billion in short-term aid and $8.9 billion through 2029. France agreed to a $2.16 billion aid package after months of deliberation. The United Kingdom announced a "historic" $2 billion deal focused on air defense missiles.
Russia has warned of strong countermeasures if the West actually seizes its assets. Meanwhile, the EU is accelerating the pace of weapons production with the aim of supplying 1 million artillery shells to Ukraine by the end of 2025.
