Despite the rainy season, construction of Tra Khuc 3 bridge across Tra Khuc river is still in full swing with the determination to basically complete it and open it to traffic by the end of the year.
Construction progress reached nearly 90%
In recent days, the construction of Tra Khuc 3 bridge across Tra Khuc river connecting Son Tinh district center with provincial road 623B through Tu Nghia district has been going on vigorously. Each item of the bid packages has been deployed by the contractor with the highest determination.
The Tra Khuc 3 bridge project across the Tra Khuc River has reached about 87% progress.
At the southern bridgehead in Nghia Thuan commune, after completing the ironwork of the bridge deck, the joint venture contractor poured concrete and completed the surface layer. The contractor also urgently constructed the bridge railings, approach roadbed, etc.
According to the reporter's records, the bridge has basically been completed. The contractor has completed the construction of all 3 concrete-filled steel tube arch spans (60-90-60), tensioned the load-bearing cables, and completed the launching of the girders and the bridge deck.
At the same time, all 38m long U-beams of the remaining bridge spans were cast at the casting yard at the foot of the construction site and were craned into construction. The approach roads at both ends of the bridge basically completed the longitudinal drainage system, filled the roadbed, and graded crushed stone for most of the length of the route.
For the bridge and culvert projects over the approach roads, the contractor is in the final stage, preparing conditions for asphalt paving of the bridge deck.
The representative of the joint venture contractor for the construction of Tra Khuc 3 Bridge said that due to weather conditions, the unit focused on constructing items related to the bridge and concrete work. Particularly for the roadbed, when the weather is favorable, the maximum equipment will be mobilized to speed up construction.
Contractors are working hard to complete the project to open to traffic by the end of 2024.
Mr. Ngo Van Dung, Director of the Quang Ngai Traffic Construction Investment Project Management Board, said that the project's construction progress by mid-November reached 87% of the contract value, with a cumulative total of VND 625/716 billion. The disbursement of capital assigned in 2024 alone is about VND 72/210 billion.
Currently, contractors are working hard to construct related items, trying to open the technical traffic by the end of 2024.
Focus on removing obstacles to bring the project to the finish line
It is known that the Tra Khuc 3 bridge project and the connecting road from National Highway 24B to Provincial Road 623B are more than 2.5km long. Of which, the bridge is 710m long, has 15 spans, 22.9m wide with the upper structure including 3 steel pipe arch spans filled with concrete and 12 U-beam approach spans, 38m long made of prestressed reinforced concrete.
The bridge cross-section consists of 6 main girders placed 3m apart and 1.4m high. The lower part of the bridge consists of a single-body approach pier, a transition pier and a double-body main pier, and a bored pile foundation.
The approach roads at both ends of the bridge are 26m wide, with sidewalks on each side being 5m wide. In addition, the project also includes many related items such as: shade trees, lighting, etc. with a total investment of 850 billion VND (525 billion from the central budget, the rest from the provincial budget). The project will start construction at the end of 2022.
In addition to the progress of the project, there are still some problems with compensation and site clearance. Accordingly, the northern part of the project through Son Tinh district is still entangled with Huynh Ngoc Khanh's household, representing the heirs of Ms. Nguyen Thi Lien's household with an area of over 1,000m2 within the construction area of the approach road connecting Tra Khuc 3 bridge with National Highway 24B.
In recent times, the Son Tinh district government and the Quang Ngai Traffic Construction Investment Project Management Board have made great efforts to resolve the problems. However, there are still some shortcomings, especially the new regulations on compensation, site clearance, and resettlement have changed and need to be considered.
Quang Ngai province directs to focus on removing obstacles regarding land.
According to the Director of the Quang Ngai Traffic Construction Investment Project Management Board, in order for the project to be basically completed in 2024, to be accepted and handed over in 2025 and to have a welcome sign for the 21st Provincial Party Congress, site clearance work must be completed early.
"To do that, in the coming time, Son Tinh district needs to be more drastic in resolving land clearance issues. In case households do not agree to hand over the land, consider applying necessary measures to reclaim the land and hand over the clean land in December," Mr. Dung suggested.
At a recent meeting to discuss solutions to promote the progress of key public investment projects, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Tran Hoang Tuan, Deputy Head of the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee's Steering Committee for implementing key projects in the province in the 2024-2025 period, requested Son Tinh district, investors and related entities to urgently resolve existing problems, speed up construction work, and complete the project as planned.
