Practical contributions to the activities of the Provincial Journalists Association

In recent times, members of the Association of Resident Journalists in Quang Ninh have strived to promote their proactiveness, creativity, and actively propagate the Party's guidelines and policies and the State's laws to the people, contributing together with the Party Committee, government and people of all ethnic groups in Quang Ninh province to successfully carry out political, economic and social tasks, and build Quang Ninh province to develop more and more sustainably.

The members of the Association always determine that first of all, they must actively study and practice politics, improve their professional qualifications, seriously cultivate professional ethics and journalistic ethics, and have many quality journalistic works that reflect the exciting competitive spirit in local movements.

Journalist Luong Quang Tho - Secretary of the Resident Journalists Association of Quang Ninh province said: "Due to the characteristics of the Resident Journalists Association, the 37 members of the Association do not operate in a centralized manner but spread across the entire province, so how to exploit the press activities of the members is always a matter of concern to the Association. Based on the requirements of the task, the Association has closely followed the monthly, quarterly and annual programs and plans of the province and the Quang Ninh Journalists Association to orient members in their professional press work" .

One of the requirements for members in information and propaganda work is to strictly comply with the objectives and instructions of superiors. At the same time, always ensure the responsiveness and timeliness of the press, promptly reflecting the legitimate thoughts and aspirations of the people and the grassroots on the mass media.

In general, the members of the Association are united in their work, completing their assigned tasks well, having a strong political ideology, and absolutely believing in the Party's policies and the State's laws. They are conscious of building the Association and the Quang Ninh Journalists Association, closely coordinating with agencies, departments, and organizations to well perform the tasks set forth by the Association, and no members violate discipline or the Code of Professional Ethics.

During the past term, the Association has regularly coordinated with the Quang Ninh Journalists Association to arrange for members to attend journalism training courses organized by the Central Committee of the Vietnam Journalists Association and the Quang Ninh Provincial Journalists Association. Through these training courses, members have improved their writing skills, program editing skills, photography skills, and the application of 4.0 technology in online news reporting, etc.

In addition, members of the Association are active participants in the Quang Ninh Provincial Press Awards, specialized press competitions and awards held annually and have won a number of high prizes. On the occasion of the 60th anniversary of the establishment of Quang Ninh Province, members of the Association actively promoted and reflected the achievements of Quang Ninh Province and created a positive effect in social life.

Charity work has always been of interest to the Association. In recent years, the Association has coordinated with a number of units and businesses in the area to donate 6 tons of rice to 6 mountainous districts. It has maintained coordination with the Quang Ninh Journalists Association to organize the Spring Newspaper Festival in the localities, while also combining to give many gifts to families with policies and difficulties during the traditional Tet holiday of the nation.

The Association has always maintained a regular relationship with the Quang Ninh Provincial Journalists Association, contributing effectively to the activities according to the Provincial Association's work program. In evaluating the achievements of the Resident Journalists Association in performing its journalistic tasks, the Association is annually awarded a Certificate of Merit by the Quang Ninh Provincial Journalists Association.

Expanding professional experience exchange activities

Journalist Luong Quang Tho said that as a political, social and professional organization, in addition to performing well the professional duties of journalists, the Association has responded to and contributed funds, actively participated in humanitarian and charitable movements of the Fatherland Front, the City Red Cross and social mass organizations so that members can directly participate in social activities through their profession.

“Through that, the Association has promoted through images, news articles and directly mobilized and encouraged social organizations and philanthropists to participate in local campaigns. The Association's work in humanitarian and charitable work has contributed to the general movement of the locality and has been recognized and highly appreciated by all levels and sectors. Many members have been commended and rewarded by all levels and sectors,” journalist Luong Quang Tho added.

Despite the difficult conditions due to the lack of proactive funding sources, the Association has taken advantage of the direction of the Provincial Journalists Association, closely following the regulations and instructions of the higher-level Journalists Association. Regularly following the directives of the local Party Committee and government and grasping the actual situation to propose the content and direction of activities for the Association. Always reminding members to uphold the spirit, responsibility, and professional ethics of journalists, and to produce good journalistic works to serve the cause of building and developing the local economy and society.

Journalist Do Ngoc Ha, Permanent Vice President of the Quang Ninh Provincial Journalists Association, said that the Resident Journalists Association has done a good job of disseminating the Party and State's policies and guidelines, and promoting the development of Quang Ninh province in a comprehensive manner, contributing to affirming itself as an important information channel in social life. The Association has also actively conveyed people's opinions on mass media in a diverse, fast and accurate manner.

“The association activities of the unit also contribute to diversifying the association's activities, thereby gradually improving the position of the Provincial Journalists Association. In addition, through the activities of the Provincial Journalists Association Branch, the Provincial Journalists Association also gathers a large number of members to participate in common activities, protecting the legitimate and legal rights of members and journalists. Orienting information and propaganda, managing professional ethics, implementing the rules for using social networks of Vietnamese journalists, the Press Law…” - journalist Do Ngoc Ha shared.

Promoting the achieved results, in the coming time, the Resident Journalists Association will continue to expand the exchange of professional experiences with other associations and inter-associations of journalists. Promoting the advantages of political - social - professional organizations, coordinating with agencies, departments, branches and localities to organize social activities of common interest, trying to create more funding sources to support the activities of the Association.

Continue to pay attention to humanitarian, social and charitable activities, build the image of the press closely connected with people's lives, and join hands to solve social problems. Actively participate in social and charitable work through journalistic activities. Each member becomes a bridge connecting the public with charitable addresses.

In the current context, requiring each member, journalist and all levels of the Journalists Association to constantly innovate and make strong efforts, journalist Luong Quang Tho affirmed: "The Association will call on journalist members to unite, uphold the glorious tradition of Vietnamese revolutionary journalism, be aware of the political responsibility and civic duty of the press and journalists, and successfully carry out the key tasks of the Association in the coming time."
