On the afternoon of December 14, in Thanh Phu district, Ben Tre province, the Ben Tre Farmers' Association held a conference and discussion on solutions to improve the efficiency of billionaire farmer clubs. Mr. Phan Nhu Nguyen - Alternate member of the Party Central Committee, Permanent Vice Chairman of the Central Executive Committee of the Vietnam Farmers' Association attended.
Also attending the conference was Mr. Nguyen Tien Cuong - Member of the Standing Committee, Head of the Central Economic Committee of the Vietnam Farmers' Union.

According to the report of Ben Tre Farmers Association, currently, the whole province has 10 billionaire farmer clubs. In 2024, 153 new members will be developed, bringing the total number of club members to 435 members.

Not only mobilizing for establishment, in recent times, the Ben Tre Farmers' Association has coordinated with businesses to organize for members of the billionaire farmers' club to visit and study durian growing models abroad; visit and study agricultural economic models in localities in the province and neighboring provinces.
Each club also proactively builds pilot models for replication. Specifically, the Billionaire Farmers Club of Thanh Phu district built a high-tech shrimp farming model using a Chlorin Gas water treatment system model that brings high economic efficiency to farmers. Mr. Dang Van Bay, a member of the club, used it as a pilot and guided many other members to follow, saving billions of VND in input costs for a crop. Currently, many members of the Billionaire Farmers Club of Ba Tri and Binh Dai districts have visited and applied the model.
The Billionaire Farmers Club of Mo Cay Nam District and the Billionaire Farmers Club of Giong Trom took the lead in building a model for organic coconut production. In 2024, club members mobilized and guided 174 farmers to produce organic coconuts on an area of 87.6 hectares. This helped coconut growers increase their income by 10 to 15% compared to before.

In order to help the agricultural products of club members develop effectively and sustainably, in 2024, the club's management board proactively coordinated to invite businesses to join and sign contracts to supply input and output products to club members.
Accordingly, T&T Fruit Export Group signed a contract with the Billionaire Farmers Club of Chau Thanh district to purchase green-skin pomelos and drinking coconuts; CP Animal Feed Joint Stock Company provided shrimp seeds and shrimp feed for the Billionaire Farmers Clubs of Thanh Phu district, Ba Tri district, and Binh Dai district; Binh Duong Elephant Organic Fertilizer Company and An Nong Fertilizer Company provided fertilizer for the Farmers Club of Cho Lach district; Luong Quoi Coconut Company purchased coconuts for the Billionaire Farmers Clubs of Giong Trom district, Mo Cay Nam district, and Mo Cay Bac district, etc.

In order to create conditions for fruit products of members to be eligible for export to countries around the world, the clubs have coordinated with businesses to build growing area codes for fruit trees: durian, green-skinned grapefruit, drinking coconut... with over 272.8 hectares.
Speaking at the conference, Permanent Vice President of the Central Executive Committee of the Vietnam Farmers' Union Phan Nhu Nguyen highly appreciated the performance of the Billionaire Farmers' Clubs in Ben Tre province.
Because this is a very creative model to attract, gather, and unite excellent farmers, good farmers in production and business, it is an environment for club members to exchange, learn, share experiences, connect, cooperate and support, help each other, spread good and creative ways of doing things, typical advanced models in production and business activities.
The model also arouses and promotes the spirit of cooperation, enhances the responsibility to the community and society of members, and is a bridge connecting members, farmers with the Farmers' Association and Party committees and authorities at all levels.
"The activities of the clubs not only bring practical benefits to club members, but also contribute to the economic and social development of the locality. They are truly bright spots for members and farmers from other localities to visit and learn from," emphasized Phan Nhu Nguyen, Permanent Vice President of the Central Executive Committee of the Vietnam Farmers' Union.

At the same time, actively share, help, guide and support poor households to escape poverty sustainably and participate in local social security activities. Standing Vice President of the Central Executive Committee of the Vietnam Farmers' Union Phan Nhu Nguyen requested that local Party committees, authorities, and Farmers' Unions at all levels of Ben Tre province continue to pay attention to directing and orienting the activities of clubs, accompanying and creating conditions for members to produce and do business, and proceed to select, evaluate, and propose Farmers' Unions at all levels to decide to recognize the title of good production and business households and honor and reward them.
To date, members of the Ben Tre Province Billionaire Farmers Club have participated in the establishment of 37 cooperatives and 123 cooperative groups, of which 57 club members participate in the board of directors, board of directors, and board of supervisors of the cooperatives.
